Bryn Howells
Bryn Howells (9 February 1911 – 6 June 1983) was a Welsh rugby union, and professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1930s and 1940s. He played representative level rugby union (RU) for Wales, and at club level for Llanelli RFC, as a Fullback, i.e. number 15, and club level rugby league (RL) for Broughton Rangers.Robert Gate (1986). Background Bryn Howells was born in Hendy, Wales, he was also a professional cricketer in the Lancashire League, he shared a house in Fallowfield with Frank Whitcombe when the two signed for rugby league club Broughton Rangers, and he died in aged 72 in Llangyfelach, Wales. Hendy ( cy, Yr Hendy) is a village in the community of Llanedi, Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is situated at the Carmarthenshire and the City and County of Swansea border. Stradey Park (Welsh: ''Parc y Strade'') was a rugby union stadium located near the centre of the town of Llanelli in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It was the home of the Scarlets region and Llanelli RFC rugby teams. The stadium was a combination of seating and standing with a total capacity of 10,800 (22,500 before 1990). Following the Scarlets' move to Parc y Scarlets in 2008, Stradey Park was demolished two years later and replaced with housing. History The ground originally opened in 1879 for use by Llanelli RFC.
