Brymo
Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ (born Olawale Ibrahim Ashimi; 9 May 1986), better known as Brymo, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, stage performer,actor and author. He started recording music in 1999 while in secondary school. He signed a record deal with Chocolate City in 2010 but was accused of breaching his contract with the label in 2013. Brymo released his debut studio album ''Brymstone'', in 2007. His second studio album ''The Son of a Kapenta'' was released in 2012; it was supported by three singles; "Ara", "Good Morning" and "Go Hard". His third studio album '' Merchants, Dealers & Slaves'' was released on 20 October 2013; it received positive reviews from music critics and was preceded by two singles; "Down" and "Eko". In October 2014, Brymo released his fourth studio album ''Tabula Rasa''; its lead single "Fe Mi" was described as a "soft traditional ballad". Oṣó
''Oṣó'' (Yoruba: ''The Wizard'') is the sixth studio album by Nigerian singer Brymo. It was released independently on 27 March 2018. The album was produced entirely by Mikky Me Joses and consists of 11 tracks, including three recorded in the Yoruba language. ''Oṣó'' is a mixture of Alternative folk and Yoruba music and has elements of mysticism; it sheds light on Brymo's folk and traditional roots. ''Oṣó'' was supported by the singles "Heya!" and "Bá’núsọ". It received critical acclaim from music critics, who complimented its production and Brymo's songwriting. ''Yellow'' is the seventh studio album by Nigerian singer Brymo, released independently on April 1, 2020. It serves as the follow-up to his live album ''Live! at Terra Kulture Arena'' (2019). ''Yellow'' was crafted from hedonism and is a departure from the dark themes deployed on ''Oṣó''. Described by Brymo as an album about "love and survival", ''Yellow'' is an alternative pop and electronic record that incorporates elements of sentimental ballad, trap, sophisti-pop, shoegaze, rock, synth-pop and folk. Nigerian singer Lindsey Abudei is the only artist featured on the album. ''Yellow'' was initially meant to comprise 17 songs but due to technical issues, two songs were omitted from the project. Merchants, Dealers & Slaves
''Merchants, Dealers & Slaves'' (abbreviated as ''M, D & S'') is the third studio album by Nigerian singer Brymo. It was made available for purchase as a digital download on October 20, 2013, and was released six days after Chocolate City filed an interim injunction against Brymo. The album was produced entirely by Mikky Me and features guitar work from David. It was supported by the singles "Down" and "Eko". Physical copies of the album were not allowed to circulate as a result of the aforementioned injunction. The album's physical release was issued on March 26, 2014, a few days after the injunction was lifted. Background and contractual issues Brymo recorded ''M, D & S'' in 2013. ''The Son of a Kapenta'' (abbreviated as ''SOAK'') is the second studio album by Nigerian singer Brymo. It was released by Chocolate City on November 15, 2012. Recorded in English and Yoruba, the album combines elements of fuji music with contemporary pop and techno. It features guest appearances from Jesse Jagz, Pryse, M.I, Ice Prince and Efya. The album was produced by E Kelly, Mikky Me Joses, Legendury Beatz, Jesse Jagz, Blaze, DMM Oluremi and Kid Konnect. ''Klĭtôrĭs'' (Greek: ''Key'') is the fifth studio album by Nigerian singer Brymo. It was released independently on May 9, 2016, and made available for pre-order on iTunes prior to its release. The album comprises 11 tracks and was preceded by the lead single "Happy Memories". Brymo's girlfriend Esse Kakada is featured on the song "Naked". Panshak Henry Zamani (born 30 October 1984) better known as Ice Prince Zamani or just Ice Prince, is a Nigerian rapper, hip hop recording artist and actor. "Oleku" is a song by Nigerian rapper Ice Prince. It features vocals by Brymo and was released as the lead single from his debut studio album '' Everybody Loves Ice Prince'' (2011). Jesse Garba Abaga (born 10 August 1984), known professionally as Jesse Jagz, is a Nigerian rapper, record producer and songwriter. Chocolate City is a Nigerian record label founded in 2005 by lawyer Audu Maikori along with Paul Okeugo and Yahaya Maikori.
