Bryggja
Bryggja is a village in southwestern part of Stad Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located on the mainland, along the northern shore of the Nordfjorden. The village is located about east of the urban areas of Måløy–Deknepollen–Tennebø in Kinn Municipality and it is about west of the village of Stårheim. The small village of Totland lies just west of Bryggja. The village has a population (2018) of 317 and a population density of . Vågsøy is a former municipality in the old Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. It was located in the traditional district of Nordfjord. The municipality's administrative center was the town Måløy. Other population centers in Vågsøy included the villages of Bryggja, Deknepollen, Holvika, Kvalheim, Langeneset, Raudeberg, Refvika, Silda, Tennebø, Totland, Vedvika, and Vågsvåg. The municipality included the island of Vågsøy, several small surrounding islands, and part of the mainland. Audun Endestad
Audun Endestad (born January 19, 1953) is a Norwegian-born American cross-country skier, author and field guide. He is a past Olympic, World and National Team cross-country skier. Biography Audun Gudmund Endestad was born in Bryggja, Sogn og Fjordane, Norway. Endestad competed from 1984 to 1997. He finished 18th in the 50 km event at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo. He is a six-time Great American Ski Chase champion and 13-time National cross-country skiing champion. Nordfjorden (Sogn Og Fjordane)
Nordfjorden is the sixth longest fjord in Norway. It flows through the municipalities of Stryn, Gloppen, Stad, Bremanger, and Kinn, and it is the central feature of the entire Nordfjord region which makes up the northern third of the county. The long fjord stretches from Husevågøy island in Kinn Municipality to the village of Loen in Stryn Municipality. The fjord starts as runoff from the Jostedalsbreen, Europe's largest mainland glacier, in the east and it flows west, emptying into the ocean just south of the Stadlandet peninsula. The mouth of the fjord lies between the large islands of Vågsøy and Bremangerlandet (with the smaller island of Husevågøy lying in the middle of the mouth). There are several smaller fjords which branch off the main Nordfjorden: Eidsfjorden, Ålfotfjorden, Hyefjorden, and Gloppefjorden. Deknepollen
Degnepoll or Deknepollen is a neighborhood in Kinn Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. Deknepollen is located on the mainland and it is an eastern suburb of the town of Måløy (which is located on the island of Vågsøy), which it is connected to by a long Måløy Bridge. It is also located about west of the village of Bryggja. The village of Tennebø is located about southeast of Deknepollen, with the lake Degnepollvatnet located between the two villages. Before the Måløy Bridge was constructed, there was a ferry from Deknepollen to Måløy. The name Deknepollen could be roughly translated as a "small fjord arm by the deacon". Tennebø
Tennebø is a village in Kinn Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is a suburb of the town of Måløy, the centre of which is located about away. The village of Deknepollen, another suburb of Måløy lies about to the northwest. The lake Degnepollvatnet is just north of the village of Tennebø. The village sits along the Skavøypollen, a small bay off the main Nordfjorden. To the east, the village of Bryggja is about away. Alfred Maurstad
Alfred Jentoft Maurstad (26 July 1896 – 5 September 1967) was a Norwegian actor, movie director and theatre manager. Biography Alfred Jentoft Maurstad was born at Bryggja in Davik (now Vågsøy) in Sogn og Fjordane, Norway. He was the son of Brynnel Maurstad (1859–1943) and Lovise Marie Brølos (1867–1943). Maurstad attended a military academy in Bergen (''Bergenske Brigades Underoffiserskole''). During his teenage years he performed in several concerts in the district of Nordfjord, playing on his Hardanger fiddle. He moved to Kristiania and debuted in 1921 at Det Norske Teatret. He began working at the Nationaltheatret in 1930. He was the theatre manager at Trøndelag Theater from 1945 to 1950. Competitive cross-country skiing encompasses a variety of race formats and course lengths. Kunnskapsforlaget () is a Norwegian publishing company based in Oslo. Kunnskapsforlaget was established in 1975, as a partnership between H. Aschehoug & Co. (W. Nygaard) and Gyldendal Norsk Forlag.
