Bryce Retzlaff
Bryce Retzlaff was a professional Australian rules football player at the Brisbane Lions. He was taken at pick No. 84 in the 2010 National Draft, after having played for Labrador in the QAFL. Retzlaff made his debut in QClash 1, the inaugural Queensland derby, against . After sustaining an ACL injury in 2012, Bryce was delisted from the Brisbane Lions. In 2013, he made his come back to football at the Box Hill Hawks Football Club becoming a premiership player after a VFL grand final win against Geelong. Retzlaff then went on to sign with Central District Football Club as a key forward in both 2014 and 2015. Labrador Australian Football Club, also known as the Labrador Tigers, is a Gold Coast based sports club. Labrador's Australian rules football team currently competes in the Queensland Australian Football League. From 2011 to 2014 it was an inaugural member club of the NEAFL competition. Formed in 1963 the ''Tigers'' played in the Gold Coast AFL until they were promoted into the Queensland State League in 1997. Runners-up in 2010 the club is a founding member of the NEAFL. Box Hill Hawks Football Club is an Australian rules football club playing in the Victorian Football League. It has an alliance with the Hawthorn Football Club, which plays in the Australian Football League. Early Australian rules football in Box Hill – 1903 to 1935 Organised Australian rules football within the municipality of Box Hill, Victoria, Box Hill can be traced back to the year 1903. In that year Mr EFG Hodges, the proprietor of the "Reporter" newspaper, founded the "Reporter District Football Association". The QClash is the name given to the Australian rules football rivalry match between the Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast Suns, who both participate in the Australian Football League (AFL). The first QClash was held in 2011, with Gold Coast winning by 8 points. The game established the highest pay TV audience ever for an AFL game, with a total of 354,745 viewers watching the game. Background The QClash was promoted by the league, the clubs and the football media as a name for the game, in similar terms to the other local derbies that exist in the AFL, such as the Western Derby and Showdown. The Brisbane Lions is a professional Australian rules football club based in Brisbane, Queensland, that plays in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club was formed in late 1996 via a merger of the Melbourne-based 1883 foundation VFL club the Fitzroy Lions, and the 1987 Queensland based expansion club the Brisbane Bears, with the colours of maroon, blue, and gold being drawn from both parent clubs.
