Brut Productions
Brut Productions was a film production company that was an offshoot of Fabergé cosmetics under George Barrie. History Barrie began thinking about becoming involved in movie production when producer Mike Frankovich asked Fabergé to make a mock advertisement for a scene in his film of '' The Love Machine''. Barrie made an advertisement for a perfume, Xanadu. Sales of this shot up as a result of it being in the film. The company began in March 1972. Cary Grant was on the board of directors and Roger Moore was an ambassador at large. Barrie said in July 1972 "We're not in business just for Cary or Roger to make the films they want." Fabergé () is a brand name that was inspired by the House of Fabergé jewellery firm, which had been founded in 1842 in Russia. The name was used for various personal care products (including cosmetics) that were manufactured under the direction of Samuel Rubin (from the late 1930s to 1964) and then by George Barrie (from 1964 to 1984). The Fabergé company was sold by Barrie in 1984 and was subsequently acquired by Unilever in 1989. In 2007, the Fabergé trademarks, licences and rights were sold by Unilever and transferred to a new company named Fabergé Limited, which announced its intention to make Fabergé a luxury goods brand. ''Sweet Hostage'' is a 1975 American made-for-television drama film based on the novel ''Welcome to Xanadu'' by Nathaniel Benchley. The film stars Linda Blair and Martin Sheen. It was filmed in Taos County, New Mexico. It was featured in ABC's Friday Night Movie series. Samuel Cohen (June 18, 1913 – January 15, 1993), known professionally as Sammy Cahn, was an American lyricist, songwriter, and musician. He is best known for his romantic lyrics to films and Broadway songs, as well as stand-alone songs premiered by recording companies in the Greater Los Angeles Area. Plot Robbin Stanley, a young hitchhiker, left stranded after a car crash and wandering on a California beach, is taken in by Jason Henry, a photographer and Korean War veteran, who lives in a nearby beach front house with his sister Grace. After Jason confides that Grace has some mental problems, Robbin soon begins to suspect that the opposite applies and that the mansion is home to some very strange goings-on.
