Bruno Orešar
Bruno Orešar (born 21 April 1967) is a Croatian businessman and former professional tennis player who competed for Yugoslavia. Tennis career Orešar had a highly successful junior tennis career. He is a three-time winner of Orange Bowl, his third win coming after beating the then-16-year-old Boris Becker in the final. At one time he was the number one ranked junior in the world. Orešar's senior career was less successful. Apart from winning two gold medals in the 1987 Summer Universiade (in singles and in mixed doubles with Sabrina Goleš), his biggest singles tournament successes were reaching the finals of Athens and Båstad in 1988 and 1989 respectively. A persistent back injury forced him into early retirement from professional tennis in 1991. His highest ATP ranking was #46 in May 1989. ''Nacional'' is a Croatian weekly news magazine published in Zagreb. Founded in 1995 and owned by photographer and journalist Ivo Pukanić, ''Nacional'' quickly gained a reputation for reporting and critical articles about the conservative government led by the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), which was in power during the 1990s. During most of its existence its main rival was ''Globus'' published by Europapress Holding (EPH). Todd Witsken
Todd Witsken (November 4, 1963 – May 25, 1998) was an American tennis player. He specialized in playing doubles and began his professional career in 1985. He was a three-time all-American at the University of Southern California. His career-high rankings were world No. 43 in singles and No. 4 in doubles. Witsken retired just before the 1993 US Open and died from brain cancer on May 25, 1998, at the age of 34. Jorge Lozano (born 17 May 1963) is a retired professional tennis player from Mexico. He reached his highest doubles ranking of World No. 4 in August 1988. His highest singles ranking was World No. 51, achieved the following month. During his career, he won two mixed doubles titles at the French Open: in 1988 with Lori McNeil and in 1990 with Arantxa Sánchez. Jaime Yzaga
Jaime Yzaga Tori (born 23 October 1967) is a former professional tennis player from Peru. Tennis career As a junior, Yzaga won the French Open in 1985 and reached the semifinals of Wimbledon (also in 1985) and of the US Open (1984). Yzaga played on the professional tour from 1984 to 1996, reaching career-high rankings of world No. 18 in singles and world No. 54 in doubles (both in 1989). He was a quarterfinalist at the Australian Open in 1991, and at the US Open in 1994, reaching the final eight by defeating in back-to-back matches finalists of the previous edition: Cédric Pioline and Pete Sampras in five sets. Paolo Canè
Paolo Canè (born 9 April 1965; ) is a former tennis player from Italy. Canè turned professional in 1983. During his career, he won three top-level singles titles (Bordeaux in 1986, Båstad in 1989, and Bologna in 1991) and achieved much success at the Olympics, reaching the semi-finals in 1984 (when it was a demonstration event) and the quarter-finals in 1988. Horst Skoff
Horst Skoff (22 August 1968 – 7 June 2008) was a professional tennis player from Austria, who won four tournaments at the top-level. Biography Skoff was born in Klagenfurt, Austria, and started playing tennis at age 6. In 1984 he won the singles title at the 16-and-under category of the Orange Bowl. He turned professional in 1985. Skoff won his first top-level singles title in 1988 at Athens. Over the course of his career he won four top-level singles titles and two tour doubles titles. The Croatian Tennis Association ( hr, Hrvatski teniski savez) is the governing body of tennis in Croatia. It organizes Croatia's teams in the Davis Cup and the Fed Cup.
