Bruno Marchand
Bruno Marchand (born 1972) is a Canadian politician who currently serves as mayor of Quebec City, Quebec, succeeding Régis Labeaume in the 2021 Quebec City municipal election. Biography Marchand was born in Quebec City and grew up in the Lairet neighbourhood of La Cité-Limoilou. He received a degree in philosophy from Université Laval in 1995 and a certification in social work from Cégep de Sainte-Foy in 1998. Following graduation, Marchand served as coordinator of student life at Cégep de Sainte-Foy from 1999 to 2008. From 2008 to 2014, Marchand worked for the Quebec Association for the Prevention of Suicide. In 2014, Marchand became Director of Centraide Québec Chaudière-Appalaches et Bas-Saint-Laurent, a position he held until March 2021. Prior to his role as president, Marchand had served on the board of directors for the organization for ten years. The Bas-Saint-Laurent (Lower Saint-Lawrence), is an administrative region of Quebec located along the south shore of the lower Saint Lawrence River in Quebec. The river widens at this place, later becoming a bay that discharges into the Atlantic Ocean and is often nicknamed ''"Bas-du-Fleuve"'' (Lower-River). The region is formed by eight regional county municipalities and 114 municipalities. Lucien-Hubert Borne
Lucien-Hubert Borne (20 August 1884 – 23 December 1954) was a Canadian politician, serving as mayor of Quebec City from 1938 to 1953. In 1936, Borne made an unsuccessful attempt to become a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Quebec. Also in 1936, he made an unsuccessful first bid for the office of Quebec City's Mayor. Two years later, he defeated incumbent mayor Joseph-Ernest Grégoire and began a 15-year mayoralty career, through city elections in 1940, 1942, 1944, 1947 and 1950. He succeeded in attracting significant industrial development during his term in office, including the development of eight new industrial parks. The Voltigeurs de Québec Armoury, formerly ''Grande-Allée Armoury'' (french: Manège militaire Grande-Allée, or simply ''Manège militaire''), was built as a Gothic Revival drill hall for the infantry regiment ''Les Voltigeurs de Québec'' in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada.
