Bruno García (politician)
Bruno García de León (born 14 July 1979) is a Spanish People's Party (PP) politician. He was elected mayor of Cádiz in 2023. He had previously been a councillor in the same city (2007–2019) and a member of the Parliament of Andalusia (2019–). Biography García was born in Jerez de la Frontera and grew up in his father's hometown of Sanlúcar de Barrameda in the Bay of Cádiz. As a child, he watched television broadcasts of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. He graduated in law from the Complutense University of Madrid. García was first elected to Cádiz City Hall in 2007, serving as the councillor responsible for tourism in the People's Party (PP) government of mayor Teófila Martínez; from 2011 his responsibilities expanded to economic development. People's Party (Spain)
The People's Party ( es, Partido Popular ; known mostly by its acronym, PP ) is a conservative and Christian-democratic political party in Spain. The People's Party was a 1989 re-foundation of People's Alliance (AP), a party led by former minister of the dictatorship Manuel Fraga and founded back in 1976 as alliance of post-Francoist proto-parties. The new party combined the conservative AP with several small Christian democratic and liberal parties (the party call this fusion of views "the Reformist Centre"). In 2002, Manuel Fraga received the honorary title of "Founding Chairman". The party's youth organization is New Generations of the People's Party of Spain (NNGG). COPE, an acronym for Cadena de Ondas Populares Españolas ("People's Radiowaves of Spain Network") formerly called Radio Popular, is a Spanish language radio station. It is the second most listened to in Spain's generalist radio.
