Tyson Brummett
Tyson Colby Brummett (August 15, 1984July 3, 2020) was an American baseball pitcher who played one game in Major League Baseball (MLB). He played for the Philadelphia Phillies on October 3, 2012. He batted and threw Handedness#Types, right-handed and served primarily as a starting pitcher. Brummett was drafted by the Phillies in 2007 and played for five of their minor league baseball, minor league affiliates until 2012, when the organization promoted him to the major leagues. After the season ended, he was claimed off Major League Baseball transactions#Waivers, waivers by the Toronto Blue Jays. He subsequently signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers as a free agent in 2014, and was released in August of that same year, having not played a major league game with either team. Lyle Richard Brummett (born December 26, 1956) is an American serial killer who raped and killed three women in Texas from 1975 to 1976, two with the help of accomplice Allen Ladd Woody. Charged with two of the killings in exchange for testifying against Woody, Brummett had one of the murder charges dropped and was sentenced to life imprisonment. Some of his musical influences include Johnny Cash, Elton John, Roy Orbison, John Prine, Steve Earle, The Everly Brothers, and The Beatles. Austin Brummett (born February 14, 2004) is an American college soccer player who plays as a forward for San Diego State University. Career Born in Bow, New Hampshire, Brummett played for Seacoast United before joining the Seattle Sounders FC Academy in 2017. He was called up to the national under-15 team in 2018, alongside teammate Juan Alvarez. Brummett was signed by the Sounders' reserve team, the Tacoma Defiance of the USL Championship, in March 2019. Palmira Brummett, sometimes credited as Palmira Johnson Brummett is an American historian of Middle Eastern history. She is professor emeritus at the University of Tennessee where she previously served as a Distinguished Humanities Professor and Lindsay Young Professor. Gregory Scott "Spike" Brummett (born April 20, 1967) is a former right-handed Major League Baseball starting pitcher who played for the San Francisco Giants and Minnesota Twins in 1993. Prior to playing professionally, Brummett attended Wichita State University. With them, he won the 1989 College World Series Most Outstanding Player award while a senior. He is the only player from Wichita State University to win that award. In 1989, he tied for the Division I lead in wins with Kirk Dressendorfer and Scott Erickson. That total also tied him with Bryan Oelkers for most wins ever by a Wichita State pitcher. To close out his collegiate career, he had 13 straight victories.
