Bruce Cochran
Bruce Cochran (1 December 1919 – 24 January 1984) was a Canadian businessman, publisher, and politician. He represented the electoral district of Lunenburg Centre in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1974 to 1983. He was a member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Nova Scotia. Early life and education Born in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, Cochran studied at the University of King's College, and graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com.). Career Cochran served the Canadian military as a member of the West Nova Scotia Regiment throughout the duration of World War II (1939–1945) rising to the rank of captain. He married Maxine Elizabeth Bishop in 1951. They had one son, Andrew Bruce Bishop Cochran, born in 1952. Mahone Bay (town)
Mahone Bay is a town on the northwest shore of Mahone Bay along the South Shore of Nova Scotia in Lunenburg County. A long-standing picturesque tourism destination, the town has recently enjoyed a growing reputation as a haven for entrepreneurs and business startups. The town has the fastest growing population of any municipality in Nova Scotia according to the 2016 census, experiencing 9.9% population growth. James Kinley
John James Kinley (23 September 1925 – 1 May 2012) was a Canadian engineer, industrialist and the 29th Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia since confederation. Early life Kinley was born in Lunenburg, the son of politician John James Kinley and Lila Evelyn Kinley (Young). Career Kinley was an engineering graduate of Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia Technical College and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has practiced professional engineering in business and the community for more than 50 years in executive positions at Lunenburg Foundry & Engineering Co. Ltd. and Lunenburg Marine Railway. Executive Council Of Nova Scotia
The Executive Council of Nova Scotia (informally and more commonly, the Cabinet of Nova Scotia) is the cabinet of the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. Almost always made up of members of the Nova Scotia House of Assembly, the Cabinet is similar in structure and role to the Canadian Cabinet while being smaller in size with different portfolios. The Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, as representative of the King in Right of Nova Scotia, heads the council, and is referred to as the Governor-in-Council. Other members of the Cabinet, who advise, or minister, the viceroy, are selected by the Premier of Nova Scotia and appointed by the Lieutenant-Governor. Most cabinet ministers are the head of a ministry, but this is not always the case.
