Browne's Addition, often referred to shorthand as just Browne's, is a neighborhood in Spokane, Washington. It is located directly west of Downtown Spokane and is one of the oldest and densest neighborhoods in the city. The area is known for its numerous historic mansions, many of which have been converted into multi-family apartments. The terrain is flat in the neighborhood despite the degree of topographical relief in the immediate surrounding area. Latah Creek cuts a deep valley to the west, separating Browne's Addition from the Sunset Hill portion of the West Hills neighborhood and the Spokane River gorge drops off dramatically to the north into the Peaceful Valley neighborhood. High Bridge Park
High Bridge Park is a public park located at Riverside Ave. and A St. in Latah/Hangman, Spokane, Washington. It is open daily, without charge. Latah Creek runs along the eastern boundary of the park. The valley carved by the creek is crossed by three bridges carrying Interstate 90, Sunset Boulevard and a railroad. These bridges cross above the southern portion of the park. A gravel road for vehicular traffic passes through the park from A Street in the north to 13th Avenue in the south. Near the center of the park is a maintained grass area with amenities typical of other parks in the city. Picnic tables and grills are scattered about on the grass. There is also a picnic area with a wooden roof. A small playground is provided for children. While not as forested as the rest of the park, tall Ponderosa Pine trees shade the grassy area. Chief Garry Park is a neighborhood in Spokane, Washington. It is located immediately south of the Spokane River. It is named for Spokane Garry and a park that has taken his name. The neighborhood was first established in 1912 but it wasn't until 1932 that it was officially named for Chief Garry. Geography The neighborhood is bounded on the west and north by the Spokane River. The southern border runs along Trent Avenue to Havana Street, at which point it drops a few blocks to the south to follow railroad tracks east to Fancher Road.
