Brown University Band
The Brown University Band is the official band of Brown University. Like all Ivy League bands except Cornell's, it is a scatter band. The Brown Band began performing on ice skates in 1970, and claims to be the world's best (and, actually, only) ice skating scatter band. It is the source of much of Brown's school spirit, and often appears as a public representation of Brown to the Providence community and to other universities. The Band is present at all home and away football games, various basketball and hockey games, as well as Commencement and other special events each year. "You Can Call Me Al" is a song by American singer-songwriter Paul Simon. It was the lead single from his seventh studio album, ''Graceland'' (1986), released on Warner Bros. Records. "Rock Lobster" is a song written by Fred Schneider and Ricky Wilson, two members of the B-52's. It was twice recorded and released as a single, first by DB Records as their debut release in April 1978, and again the following year for the band's self-titled debut album on Warner Bros. Records. "Doctor Worm" is a song by They Might Be Giants. It first appeared on the primarily live album '' Severe Tire Damage'', being one of only three studio-recorded songs on the album. It was also released as a single and featured in a music video directed by band member John Flansburgh. Details The lyrics describe a worm learning to play the drums better. The Foundations
The Foundations were a British soul band (m. 1967–1970). The group's background was: West Indian, White British, and Sri Lankan. Their 1967 debut single "Baby Now That I've Found You" reached number one in the UK and Canada, and number eleven in the US, while their 1968 single "Build Me Up Buttercup" reached number two in the UK and number three on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100. "Karn Evil 9" is an extended work by progressive rock group Emerson, Lake & Palmer, appearing on the album ''Brain Salad Surgery''. A futuristic fusion of rock and classical themes, it was written by band members Keith Emerson and Greg Lake with former King Crimson lyricist Peter Sinfield. It is the fifth and final track on ''Brain Salad Surgery'' and, with a running length of 29 minutes and 37 seconds, is Emerson, Lake & Palmer's longest studio recording.
