Broughton And Appleby
Broughton and Appleby is an electoral ward in North Lincolnshire. It elects two councillors to North Lincolnshire Council using the first past the post electoral method, electing both councillors every four years. Since its creation in 2003 after boundary changes, it has continually elected Conservative councillors. Geography The ward encompasses the town of Broughton to the south along with the hamlets of Wressle, Castlethorpe, and Scawby Brook. The ward borders Ridge to south, separated by the A18 and the River Ancholme. Brigg and Wolds to the east, Frodingham, Town, and Crosby and Park to the west, and Burton upon Stather and Winterton to the North. To the north of the ward is the village of Appleby. Holly Mumby-Croft
Holly Mumby-Croft (born July 1985) is a British Conservative Party politician, serving as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Scunthorpe since 2019. Early life Mumby-Croft was born in Scunthorpe. She attended Sir John Nelthorpe School in Brigg and Brigg Sixth-Form College followed by reading English and History at Lincoln University. Political career Prior to her election as an MP, Mumby-Croft was elected as a councillor for the Broughton and Appleby ward on North Lincolnshire Council in 2015, and was re-elected in May 2019 but subsequently stood down upon being elected to Parliament. Mumby-Croft stood in Scunthorpe at the 2017 general election, and came second. She stood again at the 2019 general election, and defeated the incumbent Labour MP Nic Dakin, winning with a 17.1% majority. This represented a 12.8% swing from Labour to Conservative. The North Lincolnshire Council election took place on as part of English local elections on 5 May 2011, with all 43 members up for election. Defending a majority of one, the Labour Party lost control of the council to the Conservatives, who won with a majority of three seats in the only Conservative council gain from Labour in the country. Andrew Percy
Andrew Theakstone Percy (born 18 September 1977) is a British Conservative Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Brigg and Goole since 2010. He is an active member of many groups in Parliament, including All Party Parliamentary Groups on Financial Education for Young People, Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire as well as being a member of the anti-European Union Better Off Out Group. Early life Percy was born in Hull and brought up in Humberside, the son of a foundry worker (later a market gardener) and a school secretary; he has an older sister. He attended the all-boys (11–16) comprehensive William Gee School (now part of Endeavour High School) and is a politics graduate of the University of York and studied at Leeds University on a law conversion course.
