The Brilliance
The Brilliance is an American music duo made up of David Gungor and John Arndt. History David Gungor and John Arndt grew up together in Marshfield, Wisconsin. They formed the band together in 2010. Gungor previously led worship services in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Arndt worked in Austin, Texas. The two moved to New York City and Chicago. David Gungor is the brother of Michael Gungor. The duo released a self-titled album, ''The Brilliance'', on October 19, 2010. They quickly followed it up with ''Advent, Vol. 1'', on November 28, 2011. In 2012, the duo released several albums. They released ''Lent'', on February 29, ''Advent, Vol. 2'' on November 12, ''Cavetime – A Worship Experience'', on November 23, and a live album titled ''The Road Recordings''. Contemporary worship music (CWM), also known as praise and worship music, is a defined genre of Christian music used in contemporary worship. Founded as a direct-to-consumer music club in 1987 as ''Integrity Music'', Integrity was at the forefront of contemporary worship music's widespread popularity of praise and worship music. ''CCM Magazine'' is a twice-monthly online magazine focusing on contemporary Christian music, published by Salem Publishing, a division of Salem Communications. History ''CCM'' was first published in July 1978, as a printed magazine. It has been owned by Salem since 1999. On January 16, 2008, Salem announced that the April 2008 issue would be the final printed issue of the magazine, which would continue in an online-only format. When the magazine was first published, it was called ''Contemporary Christian Music'' and covered that music genre. The name was later shortened to ''CCM'', which was still an acronym for "Contemporary Christian Music". Cross Rhythms is a Christian media organisation based in Stoke-on-Trent, England. It operates an FM and online radio station, produces radio shows sent internationally, and its website has resources about contemporary Christian music. History 1983–2002 In 1983, Chris Cole started a 30-minute weekly Christian music radio show on Plymouth Sound FM, an Independent Local Radio station in Plymouth. Michael Gungor
Michael Gungor (born September 14, 1980) also known as Vishnu Dass is an American singer-songwriter, producer, music editor, author, and podcast host. He led the musical collective Gungor, which received multiple Grammy nominations. The group's music has been compared to that of Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver, and Arcade Fire. Aside from his work with the band, Gungor has written and produced music for several other artists, and is a co-founder of the art collective The Liturgists. Music career Early career As early as 2002, Gungor began producing albums with his church, Resurrection Life Church, in Grandville, Michigan. The albums garnered the attention of Integrity music, who signed Gungor for a solo album. In 2003, he released "Bigger Than My Imagination" under Integrity Media.
