Brookville (band)
Brookville was a solo project of Andy Chase from Ivy. They released three albums, all on his own label, Unfiltered Records: ''Wonderfully Nothing'' (2003), ''Life in the Shade'' (2006) and ''Broken Lights'' (2009). Brookville toured with Goldfrapp in support of ''Wonderfully Nothing'', and with Tahiti 80 Tahiti 80 are a French indie pop band from Rouen. Pop music is a genre of popular music that originated in its modern form during the mid-1950s in the United States and the United Kingdom. Ivy (band)
Ivy was an American indie pop band composed of Andy Chase, Adam Schlesinger, and Dominique Durand. They were active between 1994 and 2012. History In 1991, Andy Chase placed an ad that attracted fellow multi-instrumentalist Adam Schlesinger. In 1994 they met Dominique Durand, a native of Paris who had moved to New York City to study English, and with whom they shared admiration for The Go-Betweens, The House of Love, The Pastels, Prefab Sprout and The Smiths. Although Durand had never sung in a group, she was persuaded by Chase and Schlesinger to sing on some demos, and Ivy was formed. ''Lately'' and ''Realistic'' In 1994, Ivy signed with Seed Records and released "Get Enough," which the UK magazine ''Melody Maker'' named Single of the Week, followed by the EP '' Lately''. Andy Chase
Andy Chase is record producer and label owner. He formed the band Ivy with Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne and Dominique Durand, now his wife. Chase owns Unfiltered Records and co-owned Stratosphere Sound studio with Schlesinger and James Iha of the Smashing Pumpkins Early life Chase grew up in Bethesda, Maryland. He was a fan of pop and new wave acts in the 1980s such as the Smiths, Talk Talk, Blondie, and the Cars. At a portable home studio, he wrote music and played keyboards and guitar. Career Eager to start a band, he moved to New York City in the 1990s and placed an ad in the ''Village Voice''. Goldfrapp
Goldfrapp are an English electronic music duo from London, formed in 1999. The duo consists of Alison Goldfrapp (vocals, synthesiser) and Will Gregory (synthesiser). Despite favourable reviews and a short-listing for the Mercury Prize, their 2000 début studio album ''Felt Mountain'' did not chart highly. Goldfrapp's second album ''Black Cherry'', which incorporated glam rock and synth-pop sounds into their music, was released in 2003. Tahiti 80 are a French indie pop band from Rouen. The group was founded in 1992 by Xavier Boyer, Pedro Resende, Médéric Gontier and Sylvain Marchand. History Singer and guitarist Boyer and bassist Resende formed the pop combo as students at the University of Rouen. Taking their name from a souvenir t-shirt given to Boyer's father in 1980, the duo recruited guitarist Mederic Gontier, and with the addition of drummer Sylvain Marchand a year later, the lineup was complete. The foursome released a self-produced and self-financed EP, "20 Minutes" which resulted in them signing a deal with French label Atmospheriques. In 1998, the band flew to New York City to record their first album ''Puzzle'' with Andy Chase.
