Brooks Landgraf
Brooks Frederick Landgraf (born March 15, 1981) is an American attorney and politician serving as a member of the Texas House of Representatives from the 81st district. Elected in November 2014, he assumed office in 2015. Early life and education Landgraf is a native of Odessa, Texas and graduated from Permian High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University and a Juris Doctor from the St. Mary's University School of Law. As an undergraduate, Landgraf was a member of the Texas A&M University Corps of Cadets. Career After graduating from law school, Landgraf returned to Odessa and began working as an attorney. Landgraf was elected to the Texas House of Representatives in November 2014 and assumed office in 2015. Personal life Landgraf married Shelby Levins in 2013. They have one daughter. Odessa is a city in and the county seat of Ector County, Texas, United States. It is located primarily in Ector County, although a small section of the city extends into Midland County. Odessa's population was 114,428 at the 2020 census, making it the 28th-most populous city in Texas; it is the principal city of the Odessa metropolitan statistical area, which includes all of Ector County. Permian High School
Permian High School is a public high school located in Odessa, Texas and is one of three high schools in the Ector County Independent School District. It was the subject of the book '' Friday Night Lights'', which in turn inspired a movie and TV series of the same name. History Opened in 1959, Permian High is named for the Permian Basin, the geological formation that underlies Midland and Odessa. The name stems from the age of the rocks in the basin where the school is located, which are from the geological period that preceded the largest mass extinction in the history of life. The Permian Basin is the source of the large oil and natural gas deposits that drive the region's economy. Permian High began adding freshmen to the campus during the 2015-2016 school year. Texas A&M University Corps Of Cadets
The Texas A&M University Corps of Cadets (often The Corps of Cadets, or simply the Corps) is a student military organization at Texas A&M University. Established with the university in 1876, it is the oldest student organization on campus. Students who elect to join the Corps must participate in mandatory Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) courses and training for the first three semesters, but they are optional after that. All cadets are required to attend leadership classes in the School of Military Science coordinated by the Commandant's Office. Approximately 45 percent of the members of the Cadet Corps continue with the ROTC curriculum, contract with the military, and receive commissions as officers in the United States armed forces upon graduation.
