Brooks Kieschnick
Michael Brooks Kieschnick (born June 6, 1972) is an American former professional baseball left fielder and pitcher. The only player to win the Dick Howser Trophy twice, he is a College Baseball Hall of Fame inductee. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) during six seasons between 1996 and 2004, primarily with the Chicago Cubs and the Milwaukee Brewers. He batted left-handed but threw right-handed. During the initial part of his major league career, he was exclusively a position player; for his final two seasons in the big leagues, he was used primarily as a relief pitcher who also occasionally served as an outfielder and pinch hitter. Kieschnick played college baseball at the University of Texas at Austin for the Texas Longhorns from 1990 until 1993, when he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs. Brooks Otis (June 10, 1908 – July 26, 1977) was an American scholar of Classical languages and literature. Born in Boston, he graduated from Harvard in 1929, took the M.A. in 1930, and received the Ph.D. in 1935. Otis taught at Hobart College from 1935 to 1957, then at American University of Beirut for one year before accepting a position at Stanford University as Professor of Classics. Richard Brooks Orpik (born September 26, 1980) is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman who played for the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL). A stay-at-home defenseman and locker room leader, Orpik is a two-time Stanley Cup champion, winning with the Penguins in 2009 and with the Capitals in 2018 (the only player to win with both teams). He serves as an assistant coach of the Boston College Eagles under Jerry York in the NCAA. Orpik is also a member in the player development department for the Washington Capitals, where his role is to work with defensive prospects playing for the Hershey Bears. Brooks Phillip Victor Newmark (born 8 May 1958) is a British Conservative politician and former Member of Parliament and minister. He was elected as the Member of Parliament for Braintree in the 2005 general election and stood down at the 2015 general election. Prior to entering politics, he was involved in various businesses and was a senior partner at a private equity firm. Newmark is a visiting academic at the University of Oxford and became a guest lecturer in politics after his parliamentary career ended. Brooks Turner Moore is an American television narrator who has primarily provided voiceovers for programs broadcast on the Discovery Channel and its related networks. His most prominent work is narrating ''How It's Made'' for broadcast in the United States. Brooks Macek (born May 15, 1992) is a Canadian-German professional ice hockey centre. He is currently playing with Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Macek was picked by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft in the 6th round, 171st overall. Brooks Thomas Lee (born February 14, 2001) is an American professional baseball shortstop in the Minnesota Twins organization. Amateur career Lee attended San Luis Obispo High School in San Luis Obispo, California. As a freshman, he batted .438, and as a junior, he hit .462.
