Brooks is an Unincorporated area, unincorporated community in Marion County, Oregon, Marion County, Oregon, United States. For statistical purposes, the United States Census Bureau has defined Brooks as a census-designated place (CDP). The census definition of the area may not precisely correspond to local understanding of the area with the same name. As of the 2020 United States census, 2020 census the population was 472. Brooks is part of the Salem Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is located about nine miles north of Salem near Oregon Route 99E on French Prairie. History Brooks was a station on the Southern Pacific Transportation Company, Southern Pacific Railroad main line (now the Union Pacific) through the Willamette Valley. The station was named for early settler Linus Brooks, who came to Oregon from Illinois in 1850. He was born in Ohio in 1805. Brooks, Georgia
Brooks is a town in Fayette County, Georgia, United States. As of the 2020 United States census, it had a population of 568. History Before white settlers came to the area, Creek Indians lived in the Brooks area. The first white settlers to reside in the area were the Haisten family. At first the town was called "Haistentown", but after several other names, Brooks became the name of the town in 1905, after a local planter, Hillery Brooks, who contributed greatly to the construction of the railroad and a much needed depot. During the Civil War, the town sent many young men to fight in the Confederate Army. Several of these men were killed during the war. The Brooks Range (Gwich’in language, Gwich'in: ''Gwazhał'') is a mountain range in far northern North America stretching some from west to east across northern Alaska into Canada's Yukon Territory. Reaching a peak elevation of on Mount Isto, the range is believed to be approximately 126 million years old. Brooks Glacier is a glacier in Denali National Park and Preserve in the U.S. state of Alaska. The glacier originates on the east face of Mount Silverthrone at Brooks Gap. Mount Brooks
Mount Brooks is a mountain peak in the central Alaska Range in Denali National Park and Preserve. The mountain is part of a ridge extending northeastward from the main Denali massif, which includes Pyramid Peak and Mount Silverthrone. The ridge lies between Brooks Glacier and Traleika Glacier, overlooking Muldrow Glacier to the north. The summit is partly covered by ice. Climate Based on the Köppen climate classification, Mount Brooks is located in a tundra climate zone with long, cold, snowy winters, and mild summers. Winter temperatures can drop below −20 °F with wind chill factors below −30 °F. This climate supports the Brooks Traleika, and Muldrow Glaciers surrounding the peak. The months May through June offer the most favorable weather for climbing or viewing Mount Brooks.
