Brookfield East High School is a four-year public secondary school located in Brookfield, Wisconsin. The school is part of the Elmbrook School District, and is accredited by the North Central Association. Its rival is Brookfield Central High School, also located in Brookfield. Music Brookfield East's music department received the Grammy "Signature Gold" award in the spring of 1999. Brookfield East was one of 16 schools selected of more than 1200 nationwide. Mike Hoffmann (1953/1954 – October 24, 2021) was an American guitarist and record producer. He is known for performing with the band Yipes! and as a producer with The Verve Pipe, Willy Porter, Paul Cebar and Violent Femmes co-founder Victor DeLorenzo. Biography Hoffmann was a graduate of Brookfield East High School in Brookfield, Wisconsin. The youngest of three children of Janet and Fred Hoffmann, he started playing in bands in high school. He was the guitarist in the Milwaukee power pop band Yipes! The band had two albums with Millennium Records distributed by RCA Records. Yipes! charted in the Billboard Hot 100 with its 1980 cover of the Beach Boys' " Darlin'". Joe Panos
Joe Panos (born Zois Panagiotopoulos on January 24, 1971) is a former American football offensive lineman in the National Football League (NFL) for the Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills. After Brookfield East High School, he played college football at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he was a walk on and later became captain of the 1994 Rose Bowl team. Career College Panos started his college career playing defensive tackle at Division III University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Pat McCurdy
Pat McCurdy is a singer-songwriter from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Biography McCurdy was influenced at an early age by the first appearance of The Beatles on ''The Ed Sullivan Show''. After teaching himself guitar and participating in several high school bands, he went on to front Yipes! in the late 1970s, formed with fellow University of Wisconsin students. Often described as a power pop or new wave band, Yipes! enjoyed some moderate success after being signed to RCA/Millennium in 1978. However, the label dropped the band after only a few years. He has two sons, Julian and Miles. Career McCurdy spent most of the 1980s fronting several bands. The Men About Town (which included several members of Yipes!), Mankind, and The Confidentials all enjoyed minor success touring the Midwest. The North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA), also known as the North Central Association, was a membership organization, consisting of colleges, universities, and schools in 19 U.S. states engaged in educational accreditation.
