Brooke Stacey
Brooke Stacey (born June 26, 1996) is a Canadian ice hockey forward, currently on reserve with PWHL Montreal of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She is '' Kanien’kehá:ka'' (commonly known by the exonym 'Mohawk') and grew up in Kahnawake, a First Nations reserve on the St. Lawrence River in southern Québec. Playing career Stacey signed with Linköping HC Dam in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL) for the 2018–19 postseason, after being invited by the club's general manager, Kim Martin Hasson. She would score one goal in two regular season games, before playing in all twelve playoff games, as the club lost in the finals to Luleå HF/MSSK. Stacey signed with the Buffalo Beauts of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL) for the 2019–20 NWHL season. Montreal Force
The Montreal Force (french: la Force de Montréal) are a professional ice hockey team in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). They are based in Montreal, Quebec and practice at the Verdun Auditorium. The team was established in 2022 and debuted in the 2022–23 PHF season. History Montreal was long planned as a location for a PHF expansion franchise, but uncertainties due to the then-ongoing COVID-19 pandemic led the league to delay such plans. 2018–19 SDHL Season
The 2018–19 SDHL Season was the 12th season of the Swedish Women's Hockey League. The season began in September 2018 and ended in February 2019. Luleå HF/MSSK were the regular season champions for the fourth season in a row, and defeated Linköping HC 3-2 in the playoff finals to be crowned playoff champions for the third time in the last four years. Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) is an epidemic of violence against Indigenous women in Canada, the United States, and Latin America; notably those in the FNIM (First Nations, Inuit, Métis) and Native American communities. 2020–21 NWHL Season
The 2020–21 NWHL season was the sixth season of the National Women's Hockey League in North America. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the season was held in a bubble in Lake Placid, New York, from January to February 2021, with all five teams returning from the previous season, along with the Toronto Six expansion team as the first Canada-based team to play in the league. The season was suspended again due to positive cases of COVID-19 within the bubble. Cailey Hutchison is an American ice hockey forward, currently playing with the Connecticut Whale in the Premier Hockey Federation. Career Across four years at the University of Maine, Hutchison scored 20 points in 127 games. She was drafted 21st overall by the Metropolitan Riveters in the 2018 NWHL Draft. After her graduation, she would sign her first professional contract with the team. In her first season, she scored 11 points in 24 games, serving as an assistant captain for the team. Metropolitan Riveters
The Metropolitan Riveters (originally the New York Riveters) are a professional women's ice hockey team based in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with home games at the American Dream Meadowlands ice rink. They were one of the four charter franchises of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL), now known as the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). Its team name and logo are based upon Rosie the Riveter, the subject of the World War II-era motivational poster "We Can Do It!". 2019–20 NWHL Season
The 2019–20 NWHL season was the fifth season of the National Women's Hockey League. All five teams from the previous season returned: the Boston Pride, Buffalo Beauts, Connecticut Whale, Metropolitan Riveters, and the Minnesota Whitecaps. The NWHL completed the semifinal round of the 2020 Isobel Cup playoffs, but had to postpone the championship game between Boston and Minnesota originally scheduled for March 13, 2020, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
