Bronwyn Davies
Bronwyn Davies is a fictional character from the Australian television soap opera ''Neighbours'', played by Rachel Friend. She made her first appearance during the episode broadcast on 7 July 1988. Bronwyn is the sister of Sharon Davies. Bronwyn fell in love with Henry Ramsay and when he left for New Zealand, she followed him not long after. Bronwyn departed on 22 February 1990. Casting After Kylie Minogue, who played Charlene Robinson, announced her departure, the serial's producers decided that they needed to replace her with a similar actress. They were planning to start a nationwide search when they discovered Rachel Friend. Friend was eighteen when she joined the cast, and she chose to postpone her university degree to play Bronwyn. Her casting was announced in June 1988, and she told a reporter for ''The Sun-Herald'', "I'm a bit overwhelmed by it all but I think I'm going to like working on ''Neighbours''." Rachel Friend
Rachel Amanda Friend (born 8 January 1970) is an Australian actress and journalist. Career Friend joined the cast of the soap opera '' Neighbours'' in 1988, when she was eighteen. Friend chose to postpone her university degree to join the show as Bronwyn Davies. Friend quit ''Neighbours'' in 1990. That same year saw her win the Logie Award for "Most Popular Actress". Other roles include ''Frog Dreaming'' (1986) and ''Golden Fiddles'' (1991). She had a brief appearance in ''Round The Twist'' as a Mermaid. Friend hosted the Seven Network show ''Saturday Kitchen'' with her husband Stuart MacGill on Saturday afternoons. In 2003, Friend established her own PR company, Media Friendly, and as of July 2007, is producing and presenting the Seven Network's new parenting show, ''Mums and Bubs''. Jane Harris (Neighbours)
Jane Harris is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera ''Neighbours'', played by Annie Jones. She was created by writer Ray Kolle and debuted during the episode broadcast on 31 July 1986. Jones originally auditioned for the role of Charlene Mitchell (Kylie Minogue), but she was not successful. This prompted Jones to telephone the producers for two months asking for a role in the show until eventually she was cast. In 1989, Jones decided to quit the serial in order to pursue other projects and the character departed on 9 September the same year. In 2005, Jones was one of many ex-cast members who agreed to return to the serial to mark the 20th anniversary of ''Neighbours''. Vivean Gray
Jean Vivra Gray (20 July 1924 – 29 July 2016), known professionally as Vivean Gray, also credited as ''Vivian Gray'' and ''Viven Gray'', was an English television and film actress. She starred in the films '' Picnic at Hanging Rock'' and ''The Last Wave'', but her best-known roles were in TV soap operas, after having appeared in numerous roles for Crawford Productions, she had regular roles in serials, ''The Sullivans'', as Ida Jessup for its entire run from 1976 to 1983; in ''Prisoner'', as Edna Pearson 1984, and in ''Neighbours'', as Nell Mangel from 1986 to 1988. Gray left the acting profession in 1988, and returned to her native England to Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, where she lived a quiet and private life. Nell Mangel
Eleanor "Nell" Worthington (previously Mangel) is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera ''Neighbours'', played by Vivean Gray. She made her first on-screen appearance on 29 April 1986. She was known almost exclusively to others as Mrs Mangel. The character caused controversy among some of the public, who in turn abused Gray constantly because of Nell. In the short time she was in the series her constant sparring with Madge Bishop (Anne Charleston) was a focal point in her storylining, as well as being a continual annoyance among her neighbours with her nosy, interfering and nasty attitude.
