Brondesbury Station
Brondesbury is on the North London line, on a viaduct crossing Kilburn High Road in the Brondesbury area of Kilburn in the London Borough of Brent in north-west London. It is approximately 200 metres south-east of station and half a mile north-west of station. Ticket barriers are now in operation. History Brondesbury station opened on 2 January 1860 as ''Edgeware Road (Kilburn)'' station on the Hampstead Junction Railway. It was renamed several times: ''Edgware Road'' on 1 November 1865, ''Edgware Road and Brondesbury'' on 1 January 1872, ''Brondesbury (Edgware Road)'' on 1 January 1873, ''Brondesbury'' on 1 May 1883. A signal box was in use at the station until 5 February 1962. A number of plans were put forward between 1890 and 1926 to build an underground railway along the Edgware Road, and would have seen the construction of a Tube station at Brondesbury. Kilburn, London
Kilburn is an area of north west London, England, which spans the boundary of three London Boroughs: London Borough of Camden, Camden to the east, City of Westminster, London Borough of Brent, Brent to the west. There is also an area in the City of Westminster, known as West Kilburn and sometimes treated as a distinct locality. Kilburn High Road railway station lies 3.5 miles (5.6 km) north-west of Charing Cross. London Buses route 16 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Cricklewood and Victoria Station, it is operated by Metroline. History The 16 is a long-standing, high-profile route following a nearly straight route between Victoria Station and Cricklewood Garage, largely along the Edgware Road. Twenty LGOC B-type buses were to be used on route 16 but only three were used after the war had ended. On 4 June 1927, LS (London Six) type buses with six wheels went into service on route 16. On 6 August 1929, LT 1 entered service on route 16A (Victoria to Cricklewood) with new livery, running from Cricklewood (W) garage. The LT 1 bus had 54 seats and had an AEC Renown chassis.
