Bronco Student Center
The Bronco Student Center is a student activity center for meetings, conferences, meals, recreation, and shopping for students and alumni on the campus of Cal Poly Pomona in Pomona, California. The building houses Cal Poly Pomona Associated Students government offices, as well as other student-run departments. The original building was built in 1976 and was designed by architecture instructor James Pulliam. James Pulliam (architect)
James Pulliam (1925−2005) was a noted Modernist architect in the Greater Los Angeles Area of Southern California. Works Pulliam was known for a "cut into box" style exhibited by the All-State Savings and Loan building in Glendale, California, and original Bronco Student Union Building at Cal Poly Pomona in 1976, and the interior remodeling of the San Pedro Municipal Ferry Building to house the Los Angeles Maritime Museum. Noted architectural historian David Gebhard cited a house he designed in Beverly Hills as "monumental," and the Bronco Student Center at Cal Poly Pomona as the best building on campus. He worked in the offices of Richard Neutra and Welton Beckett. He was later a partner in the architectural firm Pulliam Zimmerman Matthews. Bronco Student Center Food Court
A bucking horse is any breed or either gender of horse with a propensity to buck. They have been, and still are, referred to by various names, including bronco, broncho, and roughstock. The harder they buck, the more desirable they are for rodeo events. Roughstock breeders have long established strings of bucking horses with broodmares and stallions that have been bred and crossbred to more consistently produce the desired temperaments and athletic ability needed for bareback and saddle bronc competition.
