Bromfords School
The Bromfords School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in Wickford, Essex, England. Most pupils live in Wickford, while a large minority of pupils live in nearby Basildon and other neighbouring towns. The sixth form is smaller than average. History The Bromfords School was opened in 1973, and was originally designed to facilitate 1,000 pupils. /sup> The building contained six science labs, technical rooms and language facilities. In 1978, a second "phase" began construction which involved the addition of English and Mathematics departments, a school library and a main hall. An academy school in England is a state-funded school which is directly funded by the Department for Education and independent of local authority control. Daniel Ian Bentley (born 13 July 1993) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers. He has played in the English Football League for Southend United, Brentford and Bristol City. Career Southend United Bentley was born in Basildon, Essex and began his career as a centre back with hometown club Hutton Medway. A one-off appearance as a goalkeeper was witnessed by an Arsenal scout, who brought Bentley to the club's academy at age eight. He was released in 2008 and quickly signed for Southend United, with whom he started his apprenticeship in March 2009. Wickford is a town and civil parish in the south of the English county of Essex, with a population of 33,486. Located approximately 30 miles (50 km) east of London, it is within the Borough of Basildon along with the original town of Basildon, Billericay, Laindon and Pitsea. Wickford has a main high street which includes a wide range of shops. It also has a swimming pool, library, open-air market and a community centre within the vicinity of the town centre.
