Broken Spoke Records
Broken Spoke Record is a record label founded in 1997 by Royce Nunley, who was then a member of The Suicide Machines and side-project Broken Spoke. The label had releases from artists such as Agent 23, Tricky Dick and Blueprint 76. Broken Spoke Records was founded by James M White in Austin, Texas in the 1980s. James M White, who died in 2021, was also the co-owner of the famous Broken Spoke dancehall in Austin, founded in 1964 by James M White's stepfather William Richard "Joe" Baland. A record label, or record company, is a brand or trademark of music recordings and music videos, or the company that owns it. Sometimes, a record label is also a publishing company that manages such brands and trademarks, coordinates the production, manufacture, distribution, marketing, promotion, and enforcement of copyright for sound recordings and music videos, while also conducting talent scouting and development of new artists, and maintaining contracts with recording artists and their managers. The term "record label", derives from the circular label in the center of a vinyl record which prominently displays the manufacturer's name, along with other information. Royce Nunley
Royce Nunley (born 1976) is an American singer who currently sings lead vocals in Blueprint 76. He founded Blueprint 76 in 2002 after eight years in The Suicide Machines. He owns and runs Ringside Recording Studios and Broken Spoke Records in Detroit. He has produced several mainstream bands such as The Insyderz, Tooth Fuzz, The Suicide Machines, The Van Ermans, Blueprint 76 and Mr. Meano and the Clodhoppers. Nunley is also a seasoned tour manager and has managed many bands, including The Suicide Machines, Sick of It All, Reverend Horton Heat and Blueprint 76. He is a sound engineer for many Detroit area clubs, including "The Shelter" and "The Cobo Arena", and has run sound for several touring bands, including Reverend Horton Heat, A New Found Glory and more. The Suicide Machines
The Suicide Machines are an American punk rock band formed in March 1991 in Detroit, Detroit, Michigan. During the course of their career, the band has released seven full-length albums on the labels Hollywood Records, Side One Dummy Records and Fat Wreck Chords, as well as several EPs and singles. They have experienced lineup changes over the years, all with founding member Jason Navarro as lead singer and front man. The contemporary lineup includes Ryan Vandeberghe on drums, Rich Tschirhart on bass and Justin Malek on guitar. The band's musical style initially blended elements of punk rock, ska, and hardcore punk, hardcore into genres popularly known as ska punk and ska-core, which characterized their first two albums. After a brief foray in a more radio friendly direction, they shifted back towards their mid-1990s style, bringing back ska punk, as well as a heavier ferocity with strong political overtones that draws from early hardcore punk. Blueprint 76
Blueprint 76 was an American pop punk band started in 2002 by Royce Nunley after eight years in The Suicide Machines. The band's original lineup consisted of Nunley on lead vocals and bass, Steve Toth on guitar and Joe Reilly on drums. Joe Reilly "Joey Danger" a.k.a. "Joey B-Side" moved back to his hometown of Nashville to drum tech for The Pink Spiders who had just been signed to Geffen Records and was filled in by "Porno Bob" for the final tour and Warped Tour The Warped Tour was a traveling rock tour that toured the United States plus three or four stops in Canada annually each summer from 1995 until 2019.
