Broken Hands
Broken Hands are an English rock band, formed in 2006 in Faversham, Kent, England. The band is composed of vocalist Dale Norton, guitarist Jamie Darby, bassist Thomas Ford, drummer Callum Norton and guitarist/keyboardist David Hardstone. They are reportedly named after the character Chief Broken Hand from the Western film ''White Feather''. The band originally formed under the name of Onlookers at the age of 15. They released their debut single ''Mine'' in September 2007 via 1965 Records, and follow up single ''Canterbury Tales'' in October 2009. They toured in support of One Night Only and General Fiasco and picked up radio interest from XFM (John Kennedy’s ‘Hot One’), BBC 6, NME Radio,Radio 1 and Radio 2. Faversham
Faversham is a market town in Kent, England, from London and from Canterbury, next to the Swale, a strip of sea separating mainland Kent from the Isle of Sheppey in the Thames Estuary. It is close to the A2, which follows an ancient British trackway which was used by the Romans and the Anglo-Saxons, and known as Watling Street. The name is of Old English origin, meaning "the metal-worker's village". There has been a settlement at Faversham since pre-Roman times, next to the ancient sea port on Faversham Creek. It was inhabited by the Saxons and mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 as ''Favreshant''. One Night Only (band)
One Night Only are a British indie rock band from Helmsley, North Yorkshire, formed in 2003. History One Night Only were formed in summer 2003, consisting initially of Mark Hayton, Daniel "Pob" Parkin, Sam "Gunner" Ford and Kai Smith. The band did not have a vocalist until George Craig, a friend of Ford's brother, joined in a practice. He was asked to be the vocalist, but insisted on playing guitar as well. Smith then left the band. Contrary to some reports, they did not start out as a Beatles cover band — they initially played songs by bands such as Blink-182, New Found Glory and The Beatles, as well as some of their own material. The name, One Night Only, came about when they were asked to play a gig. They did not have a name at the time and so came up with ''One Night Only'', intending the title to, literally, last for only one night, but the name stuck. General Fiasco are an indie rock group from Bellaghy, Northern Ireland. Since their formation in 2006, they have toured with Little Comets, Fighting With Wire, The Wombats, One Night Only, The Pigeon Detectives, The Enemy, Jet and Kids in Glass Houses. They released their debut album ''Buildings'' on 22 March 2010 on Infectious Records and released their second album '' Unfaithfully Yours'' on 30 July 2012 on Dirty Hit. History Touring and recording (2007–2010) In 2007, Owen Strathern and Stephen Leacock had been playing with The Tides and had already released an album due much critical acclaim. Edwyn Collins
Edwyn Stephen Collins (born 23 August 1959) is a Scottish musician, producer and record label owner from Edinburgh, Scotland. Collins was the lead singer for the 1980s post-punk band Orange Juice, which he co-founded. After the group split in 1985, Collins started a solo career. His 1995 single " A Girl Like You" was a worldwide hit. In February 2005, Collins was hospitalised after two cerebral haemorrhages which resulted in aphasia, and he needed months to recover. He resumed his musical career in 2007. A documentary film on his recovery, ''The Possibilities Are Endless'', was released in 2014. Collins was the co-founder of the indie record label Postcard Records and co-founded a second label, Analogue Enhanced Digital, in 2011. Tom Dalgety is an English record producer and audio engineer. He is most noted for his work with Pixies, Ghost, and Royal Blood. He was nominated for Grammy Awards in 2019 for his production work on the Ghost album ''Prequelle'' (Best Rock Album) and production and songwriting on the Ghost track "Rats" (Best Rock Song). Biography Dalgety was born in Oxford, Oxfordshire. He grew up in Frome, Somerset, and began his career working at Rockfield Studios in Wales. Rockfield Studios is a residential recording studio located in the Wye Valley just outside the village of Rockfield, Monmouthshire, Wales. It was originally founded in 1963 by brothers Kingsley and Charles Ward. Facilities Rockfield is a two-studio facility consisting of The Coach House and The Quadrangle. Both studios reside within converted solid-stone farm buildings. Littlebourne
Littlebourne is a village and civil parish east of Canterbury in Kent, South East England. History The significant Howletts Anglo-Saxon cemetery is in the parish. Atlantic Recording Corporation (simply known as Atlantic Records) is an American record label founded in October 1947 by Ahmet Ertegun and Herb Abramson.
