Blake Brockington
Blake Brockington (May 14, 1996 – March 23, 2015) was an American trans man whose suicide attracted international attention. He had previously received attention as the first openly transgender high school homecoming king in North Carolina, and had since been advocating for LGBT youth, the transgender community, and against police brutality. Life Brockington was born on May 14, 1996, in Charleston, South Carolina. He moved from Charleston to Charlotte, North Carolina, when he was 12. Brockington, who was assigned female at birth, came out publicly as transgender while attending East Mecklenburg High School as a tenth grade student. His family was not supportive of his decision to transition, wondering why he would want to draw more attention to himself as a black youth. Little Brother is an American hip hop duo from Durham, North Carolina that consists of rappers Phonte and Big Pooh. DJ and producer 9th Wonder was an original member of the group but departed in 2007. The group has produced five acclaimed studio albums and six mixtapes. Little Brother is highly regarded among hip hop fans and critics. Ian Brockington
Ian Brockington (born 1935) is a British psychiatrist. Education and career Ian Fraser Brockington was educated at Winchester College and Gonville and Caius College Cambridge. He received his medical training at Manchester University. His doctoral thesis was on 'Heart muscle disease'. He spent four years in Ibadan, Nigeria, alternating with training posts at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School with Professor Goodwin; this resulted in a number of papers on African heart diseases. On his return he switched to psychiatry, with training at the Maudsley Hospital. He worked with the late Robert Evan Kendell on schizoaffective disorders and wrote a series of papers on the nosology of the psychoses. As Senior Lecturer at the Victoria University of Manchester he developed an interest in mother–infant psychiatry. Izaiah Antoine Brockington (born July 12, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Birmingham Squadron of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the St. Bonaventure Bonnies, Penn State Nittany Lions, and Iowa State Cyclones. High school career Brockington played basketball for Archbishop Ryan High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He entered the starting lineup as a sophomore. In his senior season, Brockington averaged 18.6 points per game and led his team to its first Class 6A semifinals appearance. Leonard Walter Brockington (6 April 1888 – 15 September 1966) was a Canadian lawyer, civil servant, public figure, and the first head of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). Born in Cardiff, Wales, one of seven children, Brockington was educated at the University of Wales, graduating with honours in Latin and Greek. He arrived in Canada in 1912. Settling in Edmonton, Brockington became a journalist and civil servant. He studied law at the University of Alberta and became a solicitor for the city of Calgary. He then joined the Calgary law firm of James Lougheed and R. B. Bennett. He served as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the CBC from 1936 to 1939.
