Brock Wagner
The Saint Arnold Brewing Company is a brewery in Houston, Texas, USA, named after a patron saint of brewing, Saint Arnulf of Metz. It was founded in 1994 by Brock Wagner and Kevin Bartol, graduates of Rice University. The brewery offers tours every weekday & Saturday afternoons, which have attracted a large following. Saint Arnold has won numerous national and international awards including Mid Size Brewery of The Year 2017. History Saint Arnold Brewing Company was founded in 1994 and was originally located on the far northwest side of Houston. It operated out of that location for more than fifteen years. Brock Wagner, a resident of Southgate in Houston and a graduate of Rice University, founded the company and, as of 2003, owns it. Southgate, Houston
Southgate is a neighborhood in Houston, Texas, United States. History In 2002 St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital was engaging in an expansion project. In January 2003 some residents asked the City of Houston to reclassify University Boulevard as a residential street in order to control the amount of traffic on the street. The Southgate Civic Club asked for a street closure on Southgate Boulevard to prevent traffic from the Texas Medical Center from reaching the subdivision. In late December 2003 the City of Houston Public Works Department closed a portion of Southgate Boulevard to block Medical Center traffic. In 2003, on weekdays, 38% of the vehicle traffic on Southgate Boulevard did not originate from the neighborhood. The Houston Fire Department had stated opposition to the street closures. In December 2003 the City of Houston closed Southgate east of Travis Street, preventing commuters to a St. Luke's office building from parking in the neighborhood. Arnulf Of Metz
Arnulf of Metz ( 582 – 645) was a Frankish bishop of Metz and advisor to the Merovingian court of Austrasia. He later retired to the Abbey of Remiremont. In French he is also known as Arnoul or Arnoulf. In English he is known as Arnold. Genealogy The ''Vita Sancti Arnulfi'', written shortly after the saint's death, states that he was of Frankish ancestry, from "sufficiently elevated and noble parentage, and very rich in worldly goods". Sometime after 800, most likely in Metz, a brief genealogy of the Carolingians was compiled.
