Broadmoor High School
Broadmoor Senior High School (Broadmoor High School or BHS) is an accredited high school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States. It is a part of the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. History Broadmoor High School was founded in 1960 and resides on a 30-acre campus centrally located in the historic Broadmoor Neighborhood of south Baton Rouge. BHS offers an array of traditional and honors level courses, including several AP courses and College Dual Enrollment opportunities with Baton Rouge area colleges ( BRCC, SU, LSU) for eligible upperclassmen in good academic standing. The school traditionally primarily serves students in the Broadmoor and Sherwood Forest subdivisions and within an eight-mile radius of the school. Istrouma High School
Istrouma High School is an accredited public school located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States. It was founded in 1917, and is located in East Baton Rouge Parish. Its name is a local Indian word meaning "red stick". Red stick is also the English language translation of the French words baton rouge. The area of north Baton Rouge where the school is located is also known as the Istrouma area. History Istrouma High School began in 1917, in a two-room frame building with a faculty of two. In 1921 the school moved to a larger brick building at the corner of Erie Street and Wenonah Street. Victor Theodore Stelly (January 11, 1941 – December 26, 2020) was an American politician who was a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, best known for the since repealed Stelly Plan tax-shifting amendment. He was also a member of the Louisiana Board of Regents for Higher Education from 2007 through 2013, resigning before his term ended because he was dismayed at cuts to higher education. John "Bucky" Powell Richardson (born February 7, 1969, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana) is a former quarterback for Texas A&M University who went on to play professionally for the NFL's Houston Oilers. Ledell Eackles (born November 24, 1966) is an American former professional basketball player who was selected by the Washington Bullets in the second round (36th overall pick) of the 1988 NBA draft. Eackles played in seven NBA seasons for the Bullets, Miami Heat and Washington Wizards, averaging 10.8 ppg in his career.
