Broadbottom Camp
Broadbottom is a village in Tameside, Greater Manchester, England. Historically in Cheshire, it stands on the River Etherow which forms the border with Derbyshire. Description Home Farm dates from 1604 and Broadbottom Hall from 1680. There was a 14th-century water-powered corn mill and an 18th-century woollen mill, called ''Moss Mill'', which converted to producing cotton in the 19th century. Broadbottom has one remaining textile mill that is still operating called ''Lymefield Mill''. The factory mill is next to the River Etherow and is currently occupied by Tiviot Prints Ltd. Landmarks East of the railway station is Broadbottom Viaduct that carries the railway line over the River Etherow. The official length of the viaduct is . The Metropolitan Borough of Tameside is a metropolitan borough of Greater Manchester in England. Mottram In Longdendale (ancient Parish)
Mottram in Longdendale was one of the eight ancient parishes of the Macclesfield Hundred of Cheshire, England. Centred on St Michael and All Angels Church it included the townships of Godley, Hattersley, Hollingworth, Matley, Newton, Stayley, Tintwistle and Mottram itself. Under the Poor Law Amendment Act 1886 the townships became civil parishes in their own right. Inclusion in municipal boroughs In 1857 an area of the Stayley township was incorporated as part of the newly created municipal borough of Stalybridge and in 1881 the civil parishes of Godley and Newton were incorporated as part of the new Hyde Municipal Borough. Tameside Radio is a radio station which broadcasts to the Tameside area of Greater Manchester. The station is based in Ashton-under-Lyne and broadcasts on 103.6 FM from its transmitter at Harrop Edge in Mottram. Hadfield Railway Station
Hadfield railway station serves the Peak District town of Hadfield in Derbyshire, England. The station is one of the twin termini at the Derbyshire end of the Manchester-Glossop Line, the other being Glossop. It was opened by the Sheffield, Ashton-under-Lyne and Manchester Railway in 1844. The line formerly continued east of Hadfield to Penistone and Sheffield via the Woodhead Tunnel. Passenger trains on the Woodhead Line were withdrawn east of Hadfield on 5 January 1970, followed by complete closure in 1981. The tracks were lifted several years later, but the trackbed is still visible and has been partly adapted as a footpath. Since the end of through passenger services to Penistone and Sheffield, only the former eastbound platform has been used and the section westwards to the junction at Dinting is now single track. Glossop Railway Station
Glossop railway station serves the Peak District town of Glossop in Derbyshire, England. Glossop is the third busiest railway station in the county of Derbyshire after Derby and Chesterfield. The station is east of Manchester Piccadilly, and is the terminus of the Glossop line. Together with nearby Derbyshire stations at Hadfield and Dinting, Glossop is considered to be part of the Greater Manchester rail network as it lies only a short distance over the county boundary and the line goes no further into Derbyshire.
