Britta Oppelt
Britta Oppelt (born 5 July 1978) is a German Olympic-medal winning sculler. Oppelt was born in East Berlin, and competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, in the double sculls, and took home the silver medal along with teammate Peggy Waleska. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she was on the German quadruple sculls team that won the silver medal, along with Annekatrin Thiele, Carina Bär and Julia Richter. In 2008, she was part of the German quadruple sculls team that won the bronze medal at the Beijing Olympics, along with Manuela Lutze, Kathrin Boron and Stephanie Schiller. Sculling
Sculling is the use of oars to propel a boat by moving them through the water on both sides of the craft, or moving one oar over the stern. A long, narrow boat with sliding seats, rigged with two oars per rower may be referred to as a scull, its oars may be referred to as sculls and a person rowing it referred to as sculler. Sculling is distinguished from sweep rowing, whereby each boat crew member employs an oar, complemented by another crew member on the opposite side with an oar, usually with each pulling it with two hands and from stern sculling, which uses an oar to propel a vessel with side-to-side movements from the stern. Tina Manker
Tina Manker (born 3 March 1989) is a German rower. She was junior world champion in 2006 (junior quad scull), U23 world championship (double scull), and world champion in the women's quad sculls elite class at the 2011 World Championships. She finished her rowing career after participating at the 2012 Summer Olympics in double scull. She trained as a teacher in German and English, first at the Humboldt University of Berlin and then at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. After several years teaching at Onslow College, where she also coached the rowing team, she now works for High Performance Sport New Zealand in Cambridge. Kathrin Boron (born 4 November 1969 in Eisenhüttenstadt, East Germany) is a German sculler, and four-time Olympic gold medallist. She's an athlete of the SV Dynamo / SG Dynamo Potsdam. Carina Bär
Carina Bär (also spelled Baer; born 23 January 1990 in Heilbronn) is a German rower. At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro she competed in the women's quadruple sculls competition in which the German team (Bär, Annekatrin Thiele, Julia Lier and Lisa Schmidla) won the gold medal. She had previous won the silver medal in the same event at the 2012 Summer Olympics. At the World level, Bär won the 2013 title with Thiele, Julia Richter and Britta Oppelt.
