It is the principal city of the McComb, Mississippi Micropolitan Statistical Area. History 19th century McComb was founded in 1872 after Henry Simpson McComb of the New Orleans, Jackson and Great Northern Railroad, a predecessor of the Illinois Central Railroad (now part of the Canadian National Railway), decided to move the railroad's maintenance shops away from New Orleans, Louisiana, to avoid the attractions of that city's bars. The railroad purchased land in Pike County. Three nearby communities, Elizabethtown, Burglund, and Harveytown, agreed to consolidate to form this town. Jive was best known for its successes with hip hop, R&B, and dance acts in the 1980s and 1990s, along with teen pop and boy bands during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Jive was acquired by Bertelsmann Music Group in 2002. In 2008, BMG itself was bought out by Sony Music Entertainment. Circus (Britney Spears Album)
''Circus'' is the sixth studio album by American singer Britney Spears released on November 28, 2008, by Jive Records. A transition from the "darker and more urban" themes of her fifth studio album, '' Blackout'' (2007), Spears wanted to make her next project "a little bit lighter". She recorded the album during the spring and summer of 2008, after being involuntarily placed under a conservatorship earlier that year. As executive producers, Larry Rudolph and Teresa LaBarbera Whites enlisted collaborators including Spears' longtime colleague Max Martin and Danja. Their efforts resulted in a primarily pop and dance record with urban influences. Upon its release, ''Circus'' received generally favorable reviews from music critics, who complimented its production but were ambivalent towards its lyrical content. It debuted at number one on the US ''Billboard'' 200, making it her fifth album to reach the top of the chart. The album has sold over 4 million copies worldwide. Four s ...

In The Zone
''In the Zone'' is the fourth studio album by American pop singer Britney Spears. It was released on November 12, 2003, through Jive Records. With the conclusion of her Dream Within a Dream Tour in July 2002 and the end of her relationship with singer Justin Timberlake, Spears planned to take a six-month break from her career; however, work for ''In the Zone'' began later that November. She began writing songs for the album while touring internationally, despite not knowing the direction of the record. She experimented with different producers, trying to find those with whom she had chemistry. The first song recorded was "Touch of My Hand", which Spears claimed set the mood for the album. The album's eclectic music incorporates pop and urban music styles with instrumentation from techno be ...

Britney (album)
''Britney'' is the third studio album by American pop singer Britney Spears. It was released on October 31, 2001, by Jive Records. Looking to transition from the teen pop styles of her first and sophomore studio albums '' ...Baby One More Time'' (1999) and '' Oops!... I Did It Again'' (2000) respectively, Spears began to embrace a significantly more mature sound with ''Britney''. The record incorporates genres of pop and R&B with influences of electronic dance and occasionally dips into elements of disco, hip hop, rock, and electronica. Its lyrics address the subjects of coming of age, adulthood, control, and sexuality. Contributions to its production came from a variety of collaborators, including Max Martin and Rami Yacoub. Spears herself assumed a more prominent role in the album's development, co-writing six of its tracks. ''Britney'' received generally mixed reviews from music critics, who complimented Spears's musical progression but criticized her increasingly provocati ...
