Swim England is the national governing body for swimming, diving, water polo, open water swimming, and synchronised swimming in England. It forms part of British Swimming, a federation of the national governing bodies of England, Scotland ( Scottish Amateur Swimming Association), and Wales ( Welsh Amateur Swimming Association). Rosalind Brett
Rosalind Jane Brett (born 12 March 1979) is an English former competition swimmer. Swimming career She represented Great Britain in the Olympics, FINA world championships and European championships, and England in the Commonwealth Games, winning seven medals in freestyle and medley relay events in international competition. Brett represented Great Britain at the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games in the relay events. She represented England at the 2002 and 2006 Commonwealth Games, winning silver medals on both occasions in the women's 4×100-metre freestyle relay. She won the 1996 British Championship in 50 metres freestyle and was twice winner of the 100 metres freestyle (2001 and 2006). Lewis Edward Burras (born 12 February 2000) is a British competitive swimmer. He is the British record holder in the long course 100 metre freestyle. He is a 2022 Commonwealth Games silver medalist in the 50 metre freestyle, 4×100 metre freestyle relay, and 4×100 metre mixed freestyle relay, swimming on the finals relay for both relay events. At the 2022 World Aquatics Championships, he won a bronze medal in the 4×100 metre medley relay, swimming freestyle on the prelims relay, placed seventh in the 50 metre freestyle and seventh in the 100 metre freestyle. David Cumberlidge
David Cumberlidge (born 16 July 1996) is an English swimmer who won a silver medal in the Men's 4 × 100 metre freestyle relay at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, and a gold medal in the 50m freestyle event at the 2019 Summer Universiade. Career Cumberlidge gave up swimming at the age of 14, but returned to swimming aged 17. In 2015, Cumberlidge joined the University of Edinburgh swimming team. Cumberlidge won the 50m freestyle event at the 2016 and 2017 British Summer Championships. His 2017 time of 22.03 was a personal best, the fourth best time ever by a Briton, and quicker than the qualifying time for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Anna Hopkin (born 24 April 1996) is a British swimmer. She won gold as part of the British team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in mixed 4 × 100 metre medley relay, setting a new world record time. Career Hopkin, who is from Chorley, competed for England in the women's 4 × 100 metre freestyle relay at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, winning a bronze medal. In May 2021, at the European Championships held in Budapest, Hopkin won gold medals in women's 4 × 100 metre freestyle, women's 4 × 100 metre medley, mixed 4 × 100 metre freestyle and mixed 4 × 100 metre medley relays. Benjamin Proud (born 21 September 1994) is an English competitive swimmer, representing Great Britain at the Olympic Games, the FINA World Aquatics Championships and LEN European Aquatics Championships, and England at the Commonwealth Games. Proud specialises in sprint freestyle and butterfly races, specifically the 50-metre distance in both. He is the 2022 World Champion in the 50 metre freestyle, his second long course world title. He is the 2017 world champion in the 50-metre butterfly. He is only the third male swimmer to be simultaneously short-course and long-course World Champion at 50 metre freestyle, after César Cielo and Florent Manaudou. Simon Andrew Burnett (born 14 April 1983) is an English former competition swimmer who represented Great Britain in the Olympics and European championships, and England in the Commonwealth Games. He formerly held the British Records in the 100 and 200-metre freestyles. Burnett attended and competed for the University of Arizona in the United States from 2001-2006, utilizing a redshirt leading up to the 2004 Summer Olympics for his 2003 collegiate season.
