Caroline Thompson (born April 23, 1956) is an American novelist, screenwriter, film director, and producer. She wrote the screenplays for the Tim Burton-directed films ''Edward Scissorhands'' and ''Corpse Bride'' and the Burton-produced ''The Nightmare Before Christmas''. She co-wrote the story for ''Edward Scissorhands'' and co-adapted a new stage version of the film with director and choreographer Matthew Bourne. Michael Figgis (born 28 February 1948) is an English film director, screenwriter, and composer. He was nominated for two Academy Awards for his work in ''Leaving Las Vegas'' (1995).
