British Columbia Provincial Highway 97A
There are four current and two former suffixed routes of Highway 97 in British Columbia, Canada. The majority of the routes serve the Okanagan area of the British Columbia Interior. Highway 97A Highway 97A is a spur route between Highway 97 near Vernon and Highway 1 in Sicamous. Other communities on Highway 97A include Spallumcheen, Armstrong, and Enderby. The highway is designated as a core route of Canada's National Highway System for its entire length. Highway 97A's current alignment is not the same as its original route. Originally, when the '97A' designation was first given to the highway in 1953, replacing the Highway 5 designation, it went from a junction with Highway 97 at Swan Lake, where it starts today, northeast to Grindrod, and then it followed the modern-day Highway 97B to Salmon Arm, then following the Trans-Canada Highway west to Monte Creek, where Highway 97 merges onto the Highway 1. British Columbia Highway 97
Highway 97 is a major highway in the Canadian province of British Columbia. It is the longest continuously numbered route in the province, running and is the only route that runs the entire north–south length of the British Columbia, connecting the Canada–United States border near Osoyoos in the south to the British Columbia–Yukon boundary in the north at Watson Lake, Yukon. The highway connects several major cities in BC Interior, including Kelowna, Kamloops, Prince George, and Dawson Creek. Mabel Lake
Mabel Lake is a lake located in southern Interior British Columbia, Canada, that is fed by and drained by the Shuswap River. It is located southeast of Shuswap Lake, northeast of Okanagan Lake, and west of the Monashee Mountains, and is popular for camping and fishing. The area around the lake is mountainous and sparsely populated. The lake is oriented roughly north to south, and is approximately 35 km long. The Shuswap River flows out of Sugar Lake into the southern end of Mabel Lake, and issues westward from the middle part of the lake into Mara Lake. Nechako River
The Nechako River arises on the Nechako Plateau east of the Kitimat Ranges of the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, Canada, and flows north toward Fort Fraser, then east to Prince George where it enters the Fraser River. "Nechako" is an anglicization of ''netʃa koh'', its name in the indigenous Carrier language which means "big river". Cameron Street Bridge
The Cameron Street Bridge is a two-lane, 208 metre (682 feet) long continuous steel girder bridge in Prince George, British Columbia. It crosses the Nechako River, connecting the city's downtown on the river's southern side, to the Hart, a residential area on the north side of the river. Construction of the bridge began in May 2008, and the bridge was completed and opened to traffic on August 24, 2009. The current bridge is actually the third bridge in the city carrying Cameron Street over the Nechako River. Old Cariboo Highway
The Old Cariboo Highway is a portion of the historic Cariboo Highway near Prince George, British Columbia. It runs northward from its junction with Highway 97 just south of Prince George, and terminates at the Yellowhead Highway just east of Prince George. It is formerly signed as Highway 97A. British Columbia Highway 16
Highway 16 is a highway in British Columbia, Canada. It is an important section of the Yellowhead Highway, a part of the Trans-Canada Highway that runs across Western Canada. The highway closely follows the path of the northern B.C. alignment of the Canadian National Railway. The number "16" was first given to the highway in 1941, and originally, the route that the highway took was more to the north of today's highway, and it was not as long as it is now. Highway 16 originally ran from New Hazelton east to Aleza Lake.
