Lottie Briscoe
Lottie Briscoe (April 19, 1883 – March 21, 1950) was an American stage and silent screen actress. She began in theatre at the age of four and as an adult was among the first to find success after making the transition from the legitimate stage to cinema. Briscoe appeared in over 94 motion pictures; she is perhaps best remembered for her time at Lubin Studios with co-star Arthur V. Johnson. D. Stuart Briscoe (9 November 1930 – 3 August 2022) was an evangelical Christian author, international speaker and senior pastor of Elmbrook Church, in Brookfield, Wisconsin, United States. Elmbrook is the largest church in Wisconsin, averaging 7,000 in attendance per week. Briscoe is credited with transforming Elmbrook from a church of 300 members to one of the largest churches in America. Briscoe was born in Millom, Cumbria, England, and had a career in banking followed by an international ministry under the auspices of '' Capernwray Missionary Fellowship of Torchbearers''. Paul Briscoe (July 12, 1930 – August 15, 2010) was an English schoolteacher and writer. Briscoe was known for his two autobiographies about spending much of his childhood living in Nazi Germany. Biography Early life Paul Briscoe was born in Streatham, south-west London, on 12 July 1930. His father was a clerk who died in 1932 and his mother was a freelance journalist with fascist sympathies and little affection for her son whose care she primarily left to a nanny. In 1935, she took her son on a tour of Germany with her German boyfriend; they spent many months living in hotels and guesthouses around the country whilst Norah Briscoe wrote about the experience for British publications. Anne Briscoe
Anne M. Briscoe (December 1, 1918 – April 16, 2014) was an American biochemist and activist promoting women in science. She was educated at Adelphi University and Vassar College before receiving her PhD in biochemistry in 1949 from Yale University. Briscoe died at the age of 95 in 2014. Career Briscoe was a faculty member and medical researcher in biochemistry, holding positions in a number of departments including Cornell University and the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Her primary focus was research, with a focus on the metabolism of calcium and magnesium in humans.
