Brisbane North Cougars are an netball in Australia, Australian netball team based in Brisbane. Their senior team plays in the HART Sapphire Series. They also enter teams in Netball Queensland's Ruby Series as well as under-18 and under-16 competitions. History Brisbane North Cougars Netball Club was established in 2001 in Australia, 2001. They represent five netball associations based in Brisbane, including the Queensland Catholic Netball Association and associations based in Downey Park, Shire of Pine Rivers, Pine Rivers and Redcliffe, Queensland, Redcliffe. They have been one of Netball Queensland, Queensland's most successful netball clubs, making regular grand final appearances and winning regular premierships. Carina Leagues Club Tigers, also known as CLC Tigers, are an Australian netball team based in East Brisbane. Their senior team plays in the HART Sapphire Series. They also enter teams in Netball Queensland's Ruby Series as well as under-18 and under-16 competitions. The team represents Brisbane East Netball and historically has been known as Brisbane East Tigers. They adopted their current name in 2005 after the Carina Leagues Club became the teams naming rights sponsor. Netball is a ball sport played on a court by two teams of seven players. It is among a rare number of sports which have been created exclusively for female competitors. The sport is played on indoor and outdoor netball courts and is specifically played in schools. Netball is most popularly played in Commonwealth nations. Macy Gardner
Macy Gardner is an Australian netball player who has played for Queensland Firebirds in Suncorp Super Netball and for Queensland Fusion in the Australian Netball League. Early life, education and family Gardner is originally from Victoria but moved to Queensland when her mother, Roselee Jencke, was appointed head coach of Queensland Firebirds. Her uncle, Ray Jencke, is a former Australian rules footballer. Between 2013 and 2017 Gardner attended All Hallows' School and between 2018 and 2021 she attended Griffith University. Playing career Queensland Gardner has represented Queensland at both under-17 and under-19 levels in the Australian National Netball Championships. Tara Hinchliffe
Tara Hinchliffe (born 25 May 1998) is an Australian netball player in the Suncorp Super Netball league, playing for the Queensland Firebirds. She also serves as the vice-president of the Australian Netball Players’ Association. Hinchliffe was signed by the Firebirds in June 2017, having previously been captain and MVP of the Queensland under 19 side at that year's Australian National Netball Championships. She was also selected in the Australian side to compete at the World Youth Cup, making her a significant acquisition for the Firebirds. Hinchliffe grew up a passionate supporter of the Firebirds, idolising fellow players Laura Geitz and Gabi Simpson. Laura Scherian (born 26 June 1988) is an Australian netball player in the Suncorp Super Netball league, playing for the Sunshine Coast Lightning. Scherian began her netball career in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy at the now-defunct AIS Canberra Darters in 2007, before being picked up by the Queensland Firebirds in 2010 in the ANZ Championship. She was not re-signed by the Firebirds in 2011 which led her to be relegated to the second-tier Queensland Fusion team in the Australian Netball League, where she played at for the next six years as an amateur. She would play only sporadically for the Firebirds in those years when required to replace an injured contracted player.
