Brisbane Live is a proposed, multipurpose entertainment and sporting arena to be located within the Roma Street Parkland in the central business district of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The project is being developed in conjunction with Cross River Rail. The venue will be the location for swimming events at the 2032 Summer Olympics and the 2032 Summer Paralympics. The venue is expected to have a capacity of 17,000 to 18,000 people and cost $2.1 billion to construct. Location The arena was originally going to be located in a new precinct, situated above existing railway lines, directly east of Roma Street railway station. The arena precinct was to be situated between Roma Street and Albert Street, linking with the railway station and Roma Street Parkland to the west. Steven Miles
Steven John Miles (born 15 November 1977) is an Australian politician who is the 40th and current premier of Queensland, in office since 2023. He is the state leader of the Australian Labor Party (ALP) and previously served as deputy premier from 2020 to 2023. Miles was born in Brisbane and completed a PhD on the trade union movement at the University of Queensland. Prior to entering parliament he worked as a union official, political adviser, and public relations consultant. He was elected to parliament at the 2015 Queensland state election, initially representing the seat of Mount Coot-tha before switching to Murrumba at the 2017 election. Miles was appointed to state cabinet after the 2015 election victory and replaced Jackie Trad as Annastacia Palaszczuk's deputy in 2020. The Brisbane Transit Centre, at 151-171 Roma Street, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, was a long-distance bus station. It was closed and demolished in 2020 along with its three office towers.
