Brilliant Live Adventures
''Brilliant Live Adventures 995–1999' is a box set by English musician David Bowie, released incrementally throughout late 2020 and early 2021 as a series of six live albums taken from various concerts performed in support of '' Outside'' (1995), '' Earthling'' (1997) and '' Hours'' (1999). Named after the ''Hours'' song "Brilliant Adventure", the box set contains a mix of edited single shows and compilations from multiple concerts. Initial pressings of the constituent albums sold out quickly, prompting label Parlophone to issue a second pressing to give more fans a chance to buy the albums on CD or vinyl. Initial announcement In October 2020, a series of six live concert albums was announced by label Parlophone. These six albums would be released individually over the coming months, collectively forming a box-set. Empty boxes to hold the set of CDs or vinyl albums are sold separately. The Hours Tour was a small-scale promotional concert tour by David Bowie comprising a handful of live performances and numerous television appearances in support of the album ''Hours (David Bowie album), Hours'' in late 1999. Several live songs from the tour were included as b-sides to singles from the album, and concert recordings from the tour were released in 2020 as ''Something in the Air (Live Paris 99)'' and in 2021 with ''David Bowie At The Kit Kat Klub (Live New York 99)''. Gail Ann Dorsey
Gail Ann Dorsey (born November 20, 1962) is an American musician. With a long career as a session musician mainly on bass guitar, she is perhaps best known for her lengthy residency in David Bowie's band, from 1995 to Bowie's death in 2016. Aside from playing bass, she sang lead vocals on live versions of "Under Pressure" (taking the part originally sung by Queen frontman Freddie Mercury) and dueted with Bowie on other songs, including "The London Boys", " Aladdin Sane (1913–1938–197?)", "I Dig Everything", accompanying Bowie on clarinet, and a cover of Laurie Anderson's "O Superman". "O Superman", also known as "O Superman (For Massenet)", is a 1981 song by performance artist and musician Laurie Anderson. The song became a surprise hit in the United Kingdom after it was championed by DJ John Peel, rising to #2 on the UK Singles Charts in 1981. Prior to the success of this song, Anderson was little known outside the art world. First released as a single, the song also appeared on her debut album '' Big Science'' (1982) and as part of her live album ''United States Live'' (1984). Phoenix Festival
The Phoenix Festival was set up by John Vincent Power of the Mean Fiddler Music Group in 1993 as an alternative to the established Glastonbury and Reading Festivals. It was held at Long Marston Airfield near Stratford-upon-Avon and was one of the first four-day festivals in Britain.
