Brighten
''Brighten'' is the third solo album by Alice in Chains guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell. It was released on October 29, 2021, and it is Cantrell's first independent album. The first single, " Atone", was released on July 29, 2021. The second single, "Brighten", was released on September 10, 2021. The third single, "Siren Song", was released on October 21, 2021. ''Brighten'' is Cantrell's first solo album in 19 years, since 2002's '' Degradation Trip Volumes 1 & 2''. In addition to singing, Cantrell also played guitar, bass and keyboards on the album. Cantrell produced the album along with Tyler Bates. The album also features Duff McKagan on bass, Gil Sharone on drums, Greg Puciato on background vocals, Abe Laboriel Jr. on drums, Tyler Bates on strings, percussion and guitar, Vincent Jones on piano, keyboards and strings, Jordan Lewis on piano, and Michael Rozon on pedal steel. Jerry Cantrell
Jerry Fulton Cantrell Jr. (born March 18, 1966) is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter. He is best known as the founder, lead guitarist, co-lead vocalist, and main songwriter of the rock band Alice in Chains. The band rose to international fame in the early 1990s during Seattle's grunge movement, and is known for its distinctive vocal style and the harmonized vocals between Cantrell and Layne Staley (and later Cantrell and William DuVall). Cantrell started to sing lead vocals on Alice in Chains' 1992 EP ''Sap''. After Staley's death in 2002, Cantrell took the role of Alice in Chains' lead singer on most of the songs from the band's post-Staley albums, '' Black Gives Way to Blue'' (2009), ''The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here'' (2013) and ''Rainier Fog'' (2018), with DuVall harmonizing with him in the new songs and singing Staley's vocals in the old songs in live concerts. Abraham Laboriel Jr. (born March 23, 1971) is an American session drummer. He is the son of Mexican bass guitarist Abraham Laboriel, nephew of Mexican rocker Johnny Laboriel, and brother of record producer, songwriter, and film composer Mateo Laboriel. He has been the drummer for Paul McCartney's touring and recording band since 2001, as well as for Eric Clapton among others. Gil Sharone
Gil Sharone is an American drummer and member of the rock bands Stolen Babies, Team Sleep, and formerly The Dillinger Escape Plan and Marilyn Manson. He was also a fill in for the punk rock band +44. His twin brother is Rani Sharone, also of Stolen Babies. Sharone is highly regarded as one of the most versatile touring/session drummers in the world, due to his work on classic-styled ska, Rocksteady and reggae, while also working in punk rock and industrial metal. Duff McKagan
Michael Andrew "Duff" McKagan (born February 5, 1964), sometimes credited as Duff "Rose" McKagan, is an American musician. He played bass for twelve years in the hard rock band Guns N' Roses, with whom he achieved worldwide success in the late 1980s and early 1990s. McKagan rejoined the band in 2016, following their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. ''Degradation Trip Volumes 1 & 2'' is a double album by Jerry Cantrell, released on November 26, 2002 through Roadrunner Records. It is an expanded limited edition of Cantrell's ''Degradation Trip'' album, which was released five months earlier. All the songs were written long prior to the first release of ''Degradation Trip''. The title was taken from the song "Solitude", the fifth track from the album. Roadrunner Records, uneasy toward the idea of a double album release, made Cantrell condense it, but promised to eventually release all of his material. The track order of the expanded version, which differs from the first, is also presented in Cantrell's originally planned order. Early life

Jones was born to parents Leslie and Patricia Jones (née Smith), originally from Corby, England. The family moved to Canada after Leslie was offered a job in the country. He also has two sisters, Clare and Michelle.


Career

Jones joined The Grapes of Wrath in 1990, and played keyboard with the band for some time. When Kevin Kane left the band, the remaining members, Jones, Tom Hooper and Chris Hooper, continued to perform under the name Ginger.
