''Bright Night Flowers'' is the second solo album by Jon Fratelli, frontman of The Fratellis. It was released on February 15, 2019, by Cooking Vinyl. As well as being released on the standard formats of digital download, CD and standard black vinyl, the album also released a limited edition purple vinyl available from their official online store. It was co-produced by Stuart McCredie, who also produced ''Codeine Velvet Club''. Background After releasing his debut album Psycho Jukebox ''Psycho Jukebox'' is the debut solo album by Jon Fratelli, frontman of The Fratellis and formerly of Codeine Velvet Club. Released on 25 July 2011. It was recorded with Tony Hoffer (who produced ''Costello Music'' and mixed ''Codeine Velvet Club ... in 2011, pictures emerged on Lawler's Facebook page, showing him in the studio. Jon Fratelli
Jon Fratelli (born John Paul Lawler; 4 March 1979) is a Scottish musician and singer-songwriter, best known for his work with the band The Fratellis. Alongside his work with The Fratellis, Lawler has played in a band called Codeine Velvet Club and as a solo artist. Early years Lawler hails from Cumbernauld, but later moved to Glasgow. He attended St. Maurice's High School and went to college before dropping out within three hours. Before joining the Fratellis, he played in various bands including an Oasis and Blur covers band. Bands The Fratellis (2005–2009; 2012–present) In 2005, Lawler responded to an advert placed in a music shop by drummer Gordon McRory, which stated "Opportunity of a lifetime ... seeks band to make our mark on the music industry". ''Codeine Velvet Club'' is the debut, and only, studio album by Codeine Velvet Club. It was released on 28 December 2009 by Island Records in the United Kingdom and was released on 6 April 2010 by Dangerbird Records in the United States. Background and release The album was produced by Jon Lawler and Stuart McCredie and mixed by Tony Hoffer (Who produced The Fratellis' debut album ''Costello Music'') and was recorded at Terminal Music in Glasgow, Playground Studios in Glasgow and Angel Recording Studios in London. The album was written by Jon Lawler (with some tracks written by Lou Hickey and Will Foster). The album was originally meant to be released on 23 November, but was pushed back as the band were a little unhappy with aspects of the album and wanted to change them. However, on the Vic Galloway show, Lawler stated that it was silly to release the album before the tour, meaning changes might not have been made. ''Psycho Jukebox'' is the debut solo album by Jon Fratelli, frontman of The Fratellis and formerly of Codeine Velvet Club. Released on 25 July 2011. It was recorded with Tony Hoffer (who produced ''Costello Music'' and mixed ''Codeine Velvet Club'') in the Sound Factory studios in Los Angeles. Recording After putting the Fratellis on hiatus in 2009, Jon worked with singer/songwriter Lou Hickey on a project entitled Codeine Velvet Club. The duo recorded an album and played live during late 2009 and early 2010 before Jon announced he was departing the project to move onto a solo career. After playing a few shows (notably using musicians from Codeine Velvet Club, bar Hickey), Jon flew to LA with the band to record his debut album. He kept fans up to date on the songs he was working on via his Twitter feed.
