Bridon Ropes Football Club is a football club based in Charlton, Royal Borough of Greenwich, England. They are currently members of the and play at Meridian Sports & Social Club. History The club was established in 1935 as a works team of the British Ropes factory in Charlton. The club initially played in local leagues, before becoming members of the South London Amateur League. In 1970 the club joined Division Two of the Greater London League, which was largely composed of reserve teams. However, the league was disbanded at the end of the 1970–71 season when it merged into the Metropolitan–London League. In 1975 they joined the Intermediate Division of the London Spartan League. The Football Association Challenge Vase, usually referred to as the FA Vase, is an annual football competition for teams playing in Steps 5 and 6 of the English National League System (or equivalently, tier 9 or 10 of the overall English football league system). For the 2017–18 season 619 entrants were accepted, with two qualifying rounds preceding the six proper rounds, semi-finals (played over two legs) and final to be played at Wembley Stadium. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. First played during the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest national football competition in the world. It is organised by and named after The Football Association (The FA). Since 2015, it has been known as The Emirates FA Cup after its headline sponsor. A concurrent women's tournament is also held, the Women's FA Cup. Southern Counties East Football League
The Southern Counties East Football League is an English football league established in 1966, which has teams based in Kent and Southeast London. Until 2013, it was known as the Kent League. There was a previous Kent League, that existed from 1894 to 1959. History The first Kent League was formed in 1894 and folded in 1959. Despite many of the same clubs having spells in membership, there is no direct connection between the two competitions. The current incarnation of the league was formed in 1966 as the Kent Premier League (changing to Kent Football League in 1968), and in its early years many of its members were reserve sides of Southern League teams. Gradually, the reserve sides were all shifted down into the lower divisions. Kent Invicta Football League
The Kent Invicta Football League was a football league in England, formed in 2011 to commence operations for the 2011–12 season. It covered the traditional English county of Kent, some of which is now in Greater London. It merged with the Southern Counties East League in 2016, forming its lower division. Formation Negotiations to form a new Step 6 (level 10 in the overall English football league system) division began in 2009 to make promotion and relegation between the Kent League (Step 5, now Southern Counties East Football League) and Kent County League (Step 7) easier, as there had not been a relegation to the Kent County League for a number of seasons and promotions had been infrequent.
