Bridge To Nowhere (Nepal)
The Bridge to Nowhere is a concrete road bridge meant to connect Gorkha Municipality and Siranchowk Rural Municipality in Gorkha District, Gandaki Province, Nepal. It has no roads leading to it. It is being built across the Daraudi River to provide road access to Nareshwar, Gorkha municipality-3 and Jarebar, Siranchowk rural municipality-5. The intention is to build roads to it later, but the area required to construct roads to the bridge belongs to local farmers and no plans have been initiated to acquire and compensate the farmers. Gorkha Municipality, Gandaki Province
Gorkha ( ne, गोरखा, formerly known as Prithbinarayan Municipality) is a municipality in Gorkha District in Gandaki Province of Nepal created in 1996. It was initially named "Prithibinarayan" after King Prithvi Narayan Shah, who was born in Gorkha and united and founded modern Nepal. In 2009, the name was changed to "Gorkha" municipality after the end of the monarchy in Nepal. At the time of the 2021 Nepal census it had a population of 53,285 people living in 12,641 individual households. In 2014, the neighboring Village development committees Nareshwar and Phinam were merged into the municipality. The old royal palace (Gorkha Durbar), Gorakhnath and Kalika (temple of the goddess Kali) are the main attractions. The Royal Palace itself was destroyed in the 2015 earthquake. However the Gorakhnath shrine and Kalika temple are open with no entrance charges. The lower palace (Tallo Durbar) and a modern park are other major attractions. Siranchowk Rural Municipality
Siranchok Rural Municipality (Nepali : सिरानचोक गाउँपालिका) is a Gaunpalika in Gorkha District in Gandaki Province of Nepal. On 12 March 2017, the government of Nepal implemented a new local administrative structure, with the implementation of the new local administrative structure, VDCs have been replaced with municipal and Village Councils. Gorkha District
Gorkha District ( ne, गोरखा जिल्ला ), a part of Gandaki Province, is one of the 77 districts of Nepal, which is the fourth largest district (by area) of Nepal and connected historically with the creation of the modern Nepal and the name of the legendary Gorkha soldiers. The district, with Gorkha Municipality (previously known as Prithivi Narayan Nagarpalika) as its district headquarters, covers an area of and has a population of 252,201 according to the 2021 Nepal census. Daraudi River
The Daraudi River (or Daraundi Khola) is a river in Nepal. It is a left tributary of the Marshyangdi river, which in turn joins the Trishuli River.
