''Bridge Music'' is a public sound art installation on the Mid-Hudson Bridge in New York. An album was released featuring music from the installation, under the same name. History One of composer Joseph Bertolozzi, Joseph Bertolozzi's most well known undertakings, the ''Bridge Music'' project uses only the sounds of Mid-Hudson Bridge, New York's Mid-Hudson Bridge to play the bridge like a musical instrument. The work was completed in time for NY400, New York's 400th anniversary observance of Henry Hudson's voyage up Hudson River, the river that now bears his name, but was underway as early as 2004. Brainwashed is a not-for-profit music website supporting eclectic music. Brainwashed features news, reviews, a podcast, hosts websites for many musical artists and record labels, and has organized two music festivals, Brainwaves. Over fifty people contribute to the archives of Brainwashed. Brainwashed also releases music as Brainwashed Recordings. Delos International
Delos Productions is an American record label. Long in Los Angeles but now headquartered in Sonoma, California, it specializes in classical music. The Delos label was founded in 1973 by Amelia S. Haygood (1919–2007), whose stewardship of the company made her a prominent figure in the classical recording industry. She named the label after the Greek island of Delos, the birthplace of the Sun god Apollo, who brought music and healing to the world. The company's current director is Carol Rosenberger, an American pianist who recorded over 30 CDs for Delos in a career spanning more than three decades. Electronic Body Music
Electronic body music (acronymized to EBM) is a genre of electronic music that combines elements of industrial music and synth-punk with elements of disco and dance music. It developed in the early 1980s in Western Europe as an outgrowth of both punk and industrial music cultures. It combines sequenced repetitive basslines, programmed dance music rhythms, and mostly undistorted vocals and commandlike shouts with confrontational or provocative themes. 21st-century Classical Music
21st-century classical music is Western art music in the contemporary classical tradition that has been produced since the year 2000. Experimental music is a general label for any music or music genre that pushes existing boundaries and genre definitions. Experimental compositional practice is defined broadly by exploratory sensibilities radically opposed to, and questioning of, institutionalized compositional, performing, and aesthetic conventions in music. Sound art is an artistic activity in which sound is utilized as a primary medium or material. Mid-Hudson Bridge
The Franklin Delano Roosevelt Mid-Hudson Bridge is a toll suspension bridge which carries US 44 and NY 55 across the Hudson River between Poughkeepsie and Highland in the state of New York. History Proposals for the Mid-Hudson span were made by state legislature in 1923. Although the Bear Mountain Bridge in Orange County, New York and the Holland Tunnel in Manhattan were under construction, there were then no fixed highway crossings south of Albany. Tower Music (Joseph Bertolozzi Album)
''Tower Music'' (also known as Musique de la Tour), is a musical project and album (2016) by composer and musician Joseph Bertolozzi. The project used microphones placed on the surfaces of the Eiffel Tower to capture the sounds of the tower. The resulting samples were used to create a musical composition using only the sounds of the tower itself, with no added digital manipulation or alteration of the sounds. The 2016 album ''Tower Music'' (on the innova label #933), reached #11 on the iTunes Classical charts and #16 on the Billboard Classical Crossover Music chart. The precursor to the ''Tower Music'' project was ''Bridge Music''.
