Brick Livin'
''Brick Livin is the debut album by the rapper Mr. Marcelo. It was released on July 25, 2000, through No Limit Records. It was produced by Carlos Stephens, Donald XL Robertson, Suga Bear and Ke'Noe. Though it was met with positive reviews, ''Brick Livin failed to advance high on the charts within the first few weeks, making it to only No. 172 on the ''Billboard'' 200 selling 7,000 copies. After four weeks according to Mr. Marcelo himself the albums sales jumped and the album was certified Gold by the RIAA in just four week's. This gave Mr.Marcelo a spot on BET's Live from LA in 2000. It also peaked at No. 43 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and No. 9 on the Top Heatseekers. It is Mr. Marcelo's only album on No Limit Records. Southern hip hop, also known as Southern rap, South Coast hip hop, or dirty south, is a blanket term for a regional genre of American hip hop music that emerged in the Southern United States, especially in Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston, Memphis, and Miami—five cities which constitute the "Southern Network" in rap music. The Ghetto Commission was a rap quartet signed to No Limit Records. Biography The Ghetto Commission was formed in 1998 in New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S. Members consisted of New Orleans rappers Holloway (Dwayne Lawrence), G-Spade (Gary Arnold), Valerio (Walter Valerio) and singer Byron Dolliole. The group made several guest appearances on No Limit releases from 1998 to 2000. They released their first and only album, Wise Guys, in 1998, which featured the non-charting single "I'm a Soulja". C-Murder
Corey Miller (born March 9, 1971), better known by his stage name C-Murder, is an American rapper and songwriter. He initially gained fame in the mid-1990s as a part of his brother Master P's label No Limit Records, primarily as a member of the label's supergroup, TRU. Miller went on to release several solo albums of his own through the label, including 1998's platinum '' Life or Death''. C-Murder has released nine albums altogether on six different labels, No Limit Records, TRU Records, Koch Records, Asylum Records, RBC Records, and Venti Uno. In 2002, Miller was arrested in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Steve Thomas, and was sentenced to life in prison on August 14, 2009. McKinley Phipps, Jr. (born July 30, 1977), better known simply as Mac, is an American rapper and songwriter from New Orleans' 3rd Ward. Mac began rapping as a child, releasing his debut album ''The Lyrical Midget'' at the age of 13 in 1990, under the stage name ''Lil Mac''. Mac would eventually sign with Master P's No Limit Records and would grow to be one of the most critically acclaimed artists on the label, both as a solo rapper and as a member of the super group 504 Boyz. Mac released 2 solo albums and 1 album as part of the 504 Boyz on No Limit, including 1998's Shell Shocked, which peaked at #11 on the US ''Billboard'' 200. Krazy, born Michael Wilson, is an American rapper from New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. He formally started his music career in a rap group called, Murder Inc. Krazy later signed to No Limit Records and joined the 504 Boyz in 2000. Gangsta rap or gangster rap, initially called reality rap, emerged in the mid- to late 1980s as a controversial hip-hop subgenre whose lyrics assert the culture and values typical of American street gangs and street hustlers.
