Brianna Alexis Smalls Pinto (born May 24, 2000) is an American soccer player who currently plays as a midfielder for North Carolina Courage of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Pinto has played for the United States youth national teams at the 2016 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup and the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup and was named the United States Soccer Federation's Young Female Player of the Year in 2019. At age 16, Pinto was the youngest player named to the United States women's team's squad for the 2017 SheBelieves Cup. North Carolina Tar Heels Men's Soccer
The North Carolina Tar Heels men's soccer team represents the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in men's NCAA Division I soccer competition. They compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Tar Heels won the NCAA championship in 2001 and 2011. History The UNC men's varsity soccer team was founded in 1947 by Dr. Marvin Allen, the team's first coach. Before the team had only been at the club level. Dr. Allen led the team until 1977 when the current UNC women's soccer team coach Anson Dorrance took over. Dorrance spent 12 successful seasons with the men's team until 1988. Emily Ann Fox (born July 5, 1998) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a defender for North Carolina Courage of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and the United States national team. She played college soccer for the North Carolina Tar Heels. College career In 2017, Fox started the first thirteen games of her freshman season with the Tar Heels before suffering a torn ACL and missed the remainder of the season. 2019 North Carolina Tar Heels Women's Soccer Team
The 2019 North Carolina Tar Heels women's soccer team represented the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill during the 2019 NCAA Division I women's soccer season. It was the 43rd season of the university fielding a program. The Tar Heels were led by 43rd year head coach Anson Dorrance. The Tar Heels finished the season 24–2–1, 8–0–1 in ACC play to finish in first place. As the first seed in the ACC Tournament, they defeated Notre Dame, NC State, and Virginia in order to be crowned champions. Anson Dorrance
Albert Anson Dorrance IV (born April 9, 1951) is an American soccer coach. He is currently the head coach of the women's soccer program at the University of North Carolina. He has one of the most successful coaching records in the history of athletics. Under Dorrance's leadership, the Tar Heels have won 21 of the 31 NCAA Women's Soccer Championships. The Tar Heels' record under Dorrance stood at 809-67-36 (.907 winning percentage) over 33 seasons at the end of the 2017 season. He has led his team to a 101-game unbeaten streak and coached 13 different women to a total of 20 National Player of the Year awards. Cynthia Marie Parlow Cone (; born May 8, 1978) is an American soccer executive and president of the United States Soccer Federation. A former professional soccer player, she is a two-time Olympic Gold medalist and 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup champion. As head coach in 2013, Parlow Cone led the Portland Thorns FC to clinch the inaugural National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) championship title.
