Brian White (referee)
Brian White (born 1961/1962) is a Gaelic football referee from County Wexford. He refereed three finals of the All-Ireland SFC during the 1990s and 2000s. Career 1991 was White's first year as an inter-county referee and that year he oversaw the Leinster Senior Football Championship final (Dublin against Kildare) at Croke Park. His reputation is a man for "letting the game flow". White refereed the 1997 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final, which was Kerry v Mayo. Then he refereed the 2000 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final replay of Galway v Kerry. He thus became the first person to referee an All-Ireland SFC final replay without having refereed the drawn game because of a rule change. White's last All-Ireland SFC final was the 2003 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final, which was Armagh v Tyrone. The All-Ireland Men's Senior Football Championship, the premier competition in Gaelic football, is an annual series of games played in Ireland during the summer and early autumn, and organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Contested by the top male inter-county football teams in Ireland, the tournament has taken place every year since 1887, except in 1888 when the competition was not played due to a tour of the United States by would-be competitors. County Wexford ( ga, Contae Loch Garman) is a county in Ireland. It is in the province of Leinster and is part of the Southern Region. The Armagh county football team ( ) represents Armagh GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association, in the Gaelic sport of football. Hurling ( ga, iománaíocht, ') is an outdoor team game of ancient Gaelic Irish origin, played by men. One of Ireland's native Gaelic games, it shares a number of features with Gaelic football, such as the field and goals, the number of players and much terminology. The same game played by women is called camogie ('), which shares a common Gaelic root. The objective of the game is for players to use an ash wood stick called a hurley (in Irish a ', pronounced or ) to hit a small ball called a ' between the opponent's goalposts either over the crossbar for one point or under the crossbar into a net guarded by a goalkeeper for three points. 2002 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship
The 2002 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 116th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 5 May 2002 and ended on 22 September 2002. Galway entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Kerry in the All-Ireland quarter-final. On 22 September 2002, Armagh won the championship following a 1-12 to 0-14 defeat of Kerry in the All-Ireland final. This was their first All-Ireland title. It remains their only All-Ireland title. Armagh's Oisín McConville was the championship's top scorer with 1-40. His teammate Kieran McGeeney was the choice for the three Footballer of the Year awards. Colin Corkery
Colin Corkery (born 5 January 1971) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played for his local club Nemo Rangers and at senior level for the Cork county team from 1993 until 2004. Playing career Club Corkery played his club football with the Nemo Rangers club on the south side of Cork city, with whom he has had a number of successes. He first came to prominence as a player on the club's minor team that captured the Cork Minor Football Championship title in 1989. Corkery subsequently joined the Nemo Rangers senior team. He secured a county championship winners' medal in this grade in 1993, following a nine-point defeat of near rivals St. Finbarr's. Nemo later represented Cork in the provincial club championship and even reached the final of that competition. Mickey Moran
Mickey Moran is a former Gaelic footballer and manager-coach, who has been manager of Kilcoo since 2019, with a background as an inter-county manager who most recently managed the Leitrim county team. He played at senior level for the Derry county team in the 1970s and early 1980s, and played his club football for Watty Graham's Glen. He is the first man to manage five different counties (two more men, Mick O'Dwyer and John Maughan, have since followed). Moran is known to be one of the best trainers / coaches in the game and was part of the managerial backroom staff of Derry's 1993 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship-winning team, as coach of the side.
