Brian Viglione
Brian Viglione (born May 16, 1979, in Greenville, New Hampshire) is an American drummer best known for his work with The Dresden Dolls and Violent Femmes. He was also a prominent member of New York City's cabaret punk orchestra The World/Inferno Friendship Society. Known for his energetic and expressive drumming style, Viglione has often aligned himself with groups who incorporate eclectic musical styles and theatrical elements. A multi-instrumentalist, Viglione also plays guitar, bass, percussion, and sings in several of his collaborations, as well as having done producing work. Viglione relocated from New York to Los Angeles in 2019. Violent Femmes are an American folk punk band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The band consists of founding members Gordon Gano (guitar, lead vocals) and Brian Ritchie (bass, backing vocals), joined by multi-instrumentalist Blaise Garza (joined 2004), and drummer John Sparrow (joined 2005). Former members of the band include drummers Victor DeLorenzo (1980–1993, 2002–2013), Guy Hoffman (1993–2002), and Brian Viglione (2013–2016). Violent Femmes have released ten studio albums and 15 singles during the course of their career. The band found critical acclaim with the release of their self-titled debut album in early 1983. ''Live in Paradise'' is the second live album from New Zealand female vocal group, When the Cat's Away with Sharon O'Neill. Background and release When the Cat's Away formed by four female singers at the 1985 New Zealand Music Awards. The group began performing in September 1986 and signed with CBS Records, releasing their debut self titled album in June 1987. The group released a number one single "Melting Pot" in 1988 before disbanding to pursue solo careers in 1990. In 2001, the group decided to reform to celebrate the 25th anniversary, minus original member Dianne Swan. Written in response to a letter by eight-year-old Virginia O'Hanlon asking whether Santa Claus was real, the editorial was initially published anonymously and Church's authorship was not disclosed until after his 1906 death. "Sing" is the first single by The Dresden Dolls duo, taken from the second studio album '' Yes, Virginia...''. It was never released in shops, only as a promo for radio stations. The music video, directed by Michael Pope, prominently featured living statues and centered on the plotline of a video of the Dresden Dolls playing the song being sent to various people in different locations and occupations. It also featured the band performing on a stage. There are two versions of the song, the version on the final album with the opening lyric "There is this thing that's like touching except you don't touch", and the original version available on promo copies of the album which is identical, save an alternate opening lyric, "There is this thing that's like fucking except you don't fuck." Elvin Ray Jones (September 9, 1927 – May 18, 2004) was an American jazz drummer of the post-bop era. Most famously a member of John Coltrane's quartet, with whom he recorded from late 1960 to late 1965, Jones appeared on such widely celebrated albums as '' My Favorite Things'', ''A Love Supreme'', '' Ascension'' and '' Live at Birdland''.
