Brian Muehl
Brian Giuseppe Meehl (also known as Brian Muehl; born August 24, 1952), is an American puppeteer and writer. Biography Meehl was born in Canandaigua, New York and grew up mostly in Iowa City, Iowa. Meehl worked on the last six shows of ''The Muppet Show''. He then worked on ''Sesame Street'', performing Barkley, Grundgetta, Telly Monster, and an early version of Elmo, among other characters. His work with Henson also included roles in the films, ''The Dark Crystal'', ''The Muppets Take Manhattan'' and ''The Great Muppet Caper''. In 1984, Meehl left the Muppets and began writing for children's television series including ''Between the Lions'', '' Codename: Kids Next Door'', ''Cyberchase'', the '' TUGS'' segments for ''Salty's Lighthouse'', ''Eureeka's Castle'', '' Eyewitness'' for the BBC and DK Vision and ''The Magic School Bus''. The Muppets are a group of puppet characters created by Jim Henson, many for the purpose of appearing on the children's television program ''Sesame Street''. Some of the best known Muppets on ''Sesame Street'' include Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Ernie, Bert, Cookie Monster, Grover, and Elmo. Henson's involvement in ''Sesame Street'' began when he and Joan Ganz Cooney, one of the creators of the show, met in the summer of 1968, at one of the show's five three-day curriculum planning seminars in Boston. Richard Hunt (August 17, 1951 – January 7, 1992) was an American puppeteer, best known as a Muppet performer on ''Sesame Street'', ''The Muppet Show'', ''Fraggle Rock'', and other projects for The Jim Henson Company. His roles on ''The Muppet Show'' included Scooter, Statler, Janice, Beaker, and Sweetums and characters on ''Sesame Street'' include Gladys the Cow, Don Music, and Forgetful Jones. Bob Payne is an American puppeteer and puppet builder. He is also known as Robert Payne and Bobby Payne. History Payne, a native of Washington, D.C., was a college friend of Jim Henson and Jane Henson. He first worked with them on Jim Henson's show ''Sam and Friends'' as a backup puppeteer. He even took part in some of Jim Henson's advertising where he was the principal performer of the Mirinda Craver from the ''Mirinda'' commercials. Pam Arciero
Pamela Arciero (born May 8, 1954) is an American puppeteer and voice-over artist. She has performed for ''Between the Lions'' and ''Sesame Street'', playing Oscar the Grouch's girlfriend Grundgetta in the latter. In addition to performance work, she worked as a director on the Noggin preschool series '' Oobi'', which featured both writers and performers of ''Sesame Street''. Career Pam Arciero earned her Master's in Puppetry from the University of Connecticut. ''Big Bird in Japan'' is a television special by the Children's Television Workshop (now Sesame Workshop), that aired on NHK in late fall of 1988, and on PBS on January 16, 1989. ''Big Bird in China'' is a 1983 television special based on the children's television series ''Sesame Street'' produced by Children's Television Workshop and China Central Television. It was originally broadcast on May 29, 1983, on NBC. Big Bird, Barkley and Little Xiao Fu travel through China to find Feng Huang, the Phoenix bird.
