Brian Lacey (Gaelic Footballer)
Brian Lacey (born 1974) is an Irish retired Gaelic footballer who played as a right corner-back for the Tipperary and Kildare senior teams. Born in Tipperary, Lacey first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Tipperary minor hurling team before later joining the under-21 football side. He joined the senior football panel during the 1995 championship. Lacey immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen before later joining the Kildare senior team. Throughout his career he won two Leinster medals and one Tommy Murphy Cup medal. Lacey was a member of the Munster and Leinster inter-provincial teams on a number of occasions. At club level he is a two-time championship medallist with Round Towers. He began his career with Arravale Rovers. Arravale Rovers GAA ( ga, Fánaithe Gleann Árann) is Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club in County Tipperary, Ireland. Based in the town of Tipperary, it competes at senior level in Tipperary GAA county and divisional hurling and Gaelic football championships and leagues. Now part of the West Division of Tipperary GAA, it formerly played in the South Division Up to 1930. The Club has an illustrious history and was one of the leading clubs during the foundation era of the GAA, winning the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship in its formative years. 2006 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship
The 2006 Bank of Ireland All-Ireland Senior Football Championship began on Sunday 7 May 2006. The 2006 championship used the same "Qualifier" system that was used in 2005. Tyrone were the defending champions, but were knocked out relatively early in the competition by Laois. Kerry won their 34th Sam Maguire beating Mayo in a repeat of the 2004 final. Format Since the introduction of the so-called "back-door" system a few years ago, a number of changes have taken place in the championship format. The 2000 Bank of Ireland All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 114th edition of the GAA's premier Gaelic football competition. The championship began on 7 May 2000 and ended on 7 October 2000. Meath entered the championship as the defending champions; however, they were beaten by Offaly in the Leinster quarter-final. On 24 September 2000, the All-Ireland final between Kerry and Galway ended in a draw, 0-14 apiece. Kerry won the replay two weeks later by 0–17 to 1-10, thus claiming their 32nd All-Ireland title. The 1998 Bank of Ireland All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 112th edition of the GAA's premier Gaelic football competition. The championship began on 3 May 1998 and ended on 27 September 1998. Galway's 1-14 to 1-10 victory over Kildare in the All-Ireland final meant that the Sam Maguire Cup returned to the county and the province of Connacht for the first time since 1966. 2005 Tommy Murphy Cup
The 2005 Tommy Murphy Cup was the 2nd staging of the Tommy Murphy Cup, the Gaelic Athletic Association's secondary inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The draw for the preliminary round fixtures took place on 9 July 2005. The championship began on 16 July 2005 and ended on 4 September 2005. Clare were the defending champions but they did not enter the championship. On 4 September 2005, Tipperary won the championship following a 3-10 to 0-15 defeat of Wexford in the final.
